You can convert it to electronic ignition easily enough, but EFI is a completely different animal. You're better off fitting an EFI engine in your car instead.

Mensoft,

I have converted the EFI to carburetor leaving the Ecu to function for the four coils but the fuel came down to 6KMs /Liter not done this convertion what you want to do it is possible according to the following link.

yes its possible and yes there are great benifits.

efi give you far more control over your engine.

even more if you can go distributerless ignition.

If doing this for better fuel consumption i would not do it as the ford cobra link has done. that has been designed to keep the carb look but have efi.

an engine creates the best throttle reaction and power when an injector is places just behind the throttle body butterfly but the best fuel consumption when placed as close to the cylinder head as possible.

it would be a lot easier to just change the engine for an efi model however as everything is there to start with and you wont have to have manifolds made up etc.

this will be more your thing for fuel economy

Mensoft, while I respect the opinions of other forum members, on this case I'm left wondering what is the point! The engine you speak of has a good reputation for reliability, but not very powerful and I just am not seeing the benefits of a conversion.

Yes you might get a bit more power out of it but not much, it will be slightly more responsive, but on the other hand you will end up with a Frankenstein machine, with dubious reliability, not many people know how to fix, and the cost would be considerable.

Me thinks the original carb set-up is absolutely fine for this car :)
