hi all,

today some mechanic told me "Bad driving habits may cause to damage the carburetor". :speechless-smiley-004: :speechless-smiley-004:

is this a valid statement ? if it is, why?

thanks

'CK2,

I have driven carburetor engines for long time until the new systems came to the automobiles. Some are used vehicles from japan never came across the problem what your mechanic had told.

Get him to give all details of what type of problems the motorists come across, what he means by bad driving.

Obviously bad driving is very bad on all parts of a car and Carbs are confirmed and firsts. (Sadly fools dont understand this).

When you open up a badly run carb, the fiirst sign is excessive peddling damages on throttle linkages.I have noticed severe stress damages on throttle linkages and link arms of race carbs. Throttle valve and needsa and springs are other areas.fine float valve replacements are costly.

Always practice ..gentle on throttle method.
