Stolen Passenger Side Door Mirror :(

When I returned from the races to my car (around 4:30am), to my dismay I found the left door mirror missing. And to add insult to injury, they had _broken_ off the mount instead of merely undoing the three screws from the bottom.

So my question is, can anyone suggest where I can get both the mirror and the mount for a 2003-2005 Toyota Vios? Everything in the picture.

Just try all venors from delkanda to Wijerama, sure you can find plenty. If not just let me know im going parts shopping around Negombo -Kochchikade area after Tuesday. Further consult your insurance guys too.

Sucks. Any body damage? Should be easy enough to locate at the places Miniace has mentioned (wouldn't be surprised if you locate the actual one that was taken from you)...

No body damage, I think they used something with a rubber insulation (conscientious thieves??) as there's material transfer, no actual scratches though. The goop should come off with some surgical spirit, but I've been spending the entire day feeling depressed and re-watching BSG.

I think the 110 mirror is similar. at least the main body. should be a lot cheaper too if you don't mention the name of your car.

I hope you guys are aware this is not an isolated incident. mirrors of parked vehicles are being broken of their mounts using brute force. common targets are allions premios (260) axios and vitzs with their so called "winker mirrors". the broken of mirrors are put back together with parts from insurance salvage and sold for around 25k in panchikawatte, which is quite reasonable considering some of these retail at around 60k a piece brand new.

So keep your vehicles parked in safe places and keep the mirrors folded at all times because it gives less leverage if the druggies arent using tools. in one case it wasnt just the mirrors an allion owner lost. the drivers side window was broken too while trying to break the mirror.

Well I managed to get everything sorted out today. Police report required the car to be finger printed, which apparently is optional but I didn't know it at the time. Then 500/- later, was shopping in Delkanda hoping it wouldn't rain. The fifth shop didn't only have the cheapest price, they also had a unit in the correct colour. Not wanting push my luck any further, I got it tested and fitted for 9.5K in total.

All in all, I think the higher powers wanted me to realize that I can't treat my car like the way I did my van, and let me have a taste of the consequences.

I've been spending the entire day feeling depressed and re-watching BSG.

Damn that really sucks. I know how you feel mate, my cars side mirrors were stolen twice! ones they had taken only the mirror leaving the assembly parts scattered around. another time I had to get both left and right mirrors as they didn't want to give one only.

Sorry to hear that... I was going to park in the same area, but there were some threewheel buggers blocking available spaces, so went to regal area.

When some thieving b'stards took my indicators, I asked the cops about finger prints the police said 'onang ganne ithin, apita prashnayak na' (Sinhala script ok?) wtf?! Don't get so down about these things, dude, in SL I think you have to expect this and worse. Steel yourself now, imagine a bus crushing the side, a motorbike taking off your bumper and a three wheeler knocking the mirror you just replaced right off. I know its hard bro, but we all have to man up.

Yep... got my rear wiper and antenna neatly screwed off my swift while parked on Vajira Road... wish spikes would shoot out the car or something... but then... sigh... $$$

Small but important update: The insurance guy (Continental) told me that mine was the 18th claim for a stolen Vios mirror this month.
