Sorry this is the first time I heard of this tyre... "Toyo teo plus" where is it made and is there any particular reason you are looking for this specific brand ?

Hankook is known to be a good off road tyre, so should be good. I myself have done the tyre search and so far best deal is Maxxis.

Hi Guys,

Could any of you tell me a place where I could find Toyo teo plus tires ? size is 185/70 R14.

Also what do you think about the Hankook Optimo K415 ?

If the comparison is between Toyo Teo Plus and Hankook Optimo K415 I'd get the Toyo's. But that's just my pick of the two based on my daily driving needs.

1 .

I suggest you figure out what type of driving environment you're going to experience most of the time (eg. highway, wet, dirt / gravel side roads, low speed urban roads etc.) and buy an appropriate tyre. (eg. Some tires are designed to be better on the highway and others vs other that are designed for side roads etc.) After you figure out which category / type of tire best fits your driving needs look through tyre sites for reviews on those products to help you decide which one is best for your needs. (For example: The Tyo's are rated high as a good overall highway tire. If that's the type of driving you're going to experience: Great you're on the right track; but if you're driving at relatively slower speeds up in Ratnapura or Kandy 70%-80% of the time then that won't help you much, and you should look at something else with a different tread design.

2.

If you just want to rely on per reviews via autolanka's members then I suggest you list what type of driving conditions you'd be experiencing as well for a more accurate recommendation / comparison.

That may not be completely accurate (No offence CARBON B4). Based on my experience: Hankook has a wide range of offerings at multiple price points, and you've got to be careful what you buy as the lower end of their range isn't that great. (In this case its doesn't really apply as the Hankook tire referenced is from their mid to high range, but still...)

Thanks guys.

Actually I found the toyo agents called roche & co in Malay street and Toyo is made in Japan. 185/70 R14 costs 12800 per tire.

I am looking for toyos coz it's rated very high in tire reviews.

On my daily travels I travel on A8 (very good road) ~ 20 mins on 70 - 90 km/h + Horana to Colombo (bumpy + good + city traffic). Also travel on E01 (100 - 110) + high level road when I feel the extra 150/= is worth that :)

So I guess my travels are on both highway + express way/urban and bumpy roads but no gravel.

My main priorities are wet/dry braking + handling and then comfort. My current GT s are absolutely horrible in wet braking so I need something that is better on wet roads.

I've already read too much reviews online so I need opinions from real SL users now.

Here are my short listed tires :

Toyo teo plus (Japanese) 12800/= -- H rated

Hankook k415 - price not known -- H rated

BG turanza AR10 (indonesian) 11800/= -- H rated (Not sold in europe or USA does this mean it is of inferior quality ?)

Kumho KH 17 - 9500/= -- T rated

What do you guys prefer from those ? Toyo is at the absolute limit of my budget. But I am willing to take it as the tires are some thing that you shouldn't skimp on :)

One more thing, I love spirited driving when I'm in the mood for it :D

Are the Kumho's Korean or made in China(I've come accross both). If they are Korean I think they are a good buy and a T rating is more than adequate for your car. If you are after a sporty tyre I highly recommend the Kumho ECSTA, which is very good particularly considering the price you pay for them. Not always easy to find in SL, but I have seen tyre merchants carry them.

Thanks guys. I actually got 2 Ar10's. 11100 each fitted + balanced. I went for the Ar10 's coz, it'll be easy to find them again when I need to change the 2 rear tires.

@Don I checked online and think ECSTA is not available for my size :(

Hi Guys,

You can get Toyo Tires from Roche , Maliban Street Pettah (Tel:.011-2421784)

I am currently using Toyo Teo plus at this moment(since 2009) , It is excellent in every aspects ,specially very silent (low noise)

However they are not importing Teo Plus any more , saying that out of production and quoting Toyo 350 instead

which has similar thread pattern to Teo Plus.

I believe Roche has now been acquired by Douglas and Sons so Toyo now joins the rest of the tire brands they carry including Continental, Hankook, GT Radial & some Chinese brand
