rover
Guys is there any method that can be used to disinfect the car’s interior on a regular basis. It just occurred to me due to consistently reoccurring viral attacks my family was having in the past, the culprit may possibly be the recirculating air con system. It is a known fact that bacteria/viruses breeds in the AC evaporators and filters. Are any aerosols like the ones used in aircraft cabins available in the market or is there any other simple way to keep the AC system clean of germs. If any of you guys done this please share your experience. And the doc in the forum, pls share your opinion too. cheers Edited March 21, 2012 by rover

jdnet
you know where else bacteria breeds? keyboards shopping cart handles tables counter tops etc, etc. There is no escaping it. You just need to wind a way to live with it and disinfecting your car completely is impossible and the chemicals used in an enclosed place can create problems that are a lot worse than a cold. The best wway to avoid getting sick is to not have a sick person in the car, or atleast roll down the windows when you do. If you don't already know, you do need to come in contact with bacteria from time to time to build an immunity.

VVTi
The easiest method is to regulalry vacuum the car, also as a habit, switch off the AC when you are about 5 mins from your destination, but keep the blower on. This will dry the condensation on the cooler. When you switch off the AC and and leave the car the cooler is damp and if its a rainy day a or a humid day, the condensation will collect. This is ideal medium for all kinds of nasties to grow. Plus this prevents the cooler from prematurely rusting too. I normally swtich off the AC when I am closer to home and turn up the blower all the way to the top. Perhaps its not the car, its something in the house. Check for damp spots and fungus growth on walls.

I really doubt if the AC is the culprit for the recurring viral attacks. Look for people whom you come in to contact with. Do you have schooling kids? They might be the carriers of the virii. Californikan
This stuff is one of the best and safest cleaner/disinfectants around http://www.chrisal.c...biotic-products , although I'm certain it's not available in SL. Chrisal is a non-toxic safe all-natural stabilized liquid probiotic cleaner/disinfectant that uses natural probiotics to clean and disinfect at the microscopic level. It's been proven to be much safer and more effective than traditional disinfectants (Lysol etc) that people use which are full of all kinds of toxins and chemicals http://www.chrisal.c...dies-references.
