I believe he means these. AFAIK you'll have to get them fabricated, this is a 70's design quirk and no longer in fashion.

Mensoft,

You can get them fabricated but you have to have air filters if not inside of the car will be full with polluted air.

Sylvi, the man said he would rather buy it than fabricate it; and then you go tell him he can fabricate it!?!?!?

Anyway, this being a slightly older car you might want to be bit careful with rust. With these scoops you'll be blowing air into the air-box kinda area under the dash. And the increased wind pressure might blow rain water to unreachable corners you dont want water to goto. This inevitably will cause rust to form. The common practice (i'm not saying it's the right one thought) in sri lanka has been to generally seal off most air vents such as this as the vehicles get older. I'm not asking you to do that, but just be mindful of it.

Our W123 too has a similar air box. Through time little leaves n flowers have gone into it and collected in corners and act as sponges that eternally keep those hard to reach corners miost and wet. Even though you clean it up with a wire or a blow of high pressure air every now and again, its not a permanent fix. Needles to say it developed rust pretty bad.

Watchman,

Thanks for your advice . actually already i had a issue with water leaking to the dashboard in rainy days. and now it fixed . those days the corner two air cowling was open and outside air was coming inside from those two when car is moving front . but after tinkering those two hols with open to the drain path was closed. but in side the middle of the drain have a open shutter ( i think its connected to blower intake. and can open/close).

my idea is to collect the fresh air from those to scoops and pass it through the blower.

but I'm bit confuse now as you said will it cause developed rust. also any way the car is not AC and shutters are open all the time . but you know day time for behind its OK air is coming from the shutters but front its worm. no ventilation .

just refer the below picture that's the Ida i want to do :speechless-smiley-019: (picture might not clear im not a good painter :sad-smiley-067: )

How to you plan to carry the air from the scoop to the vent? one way is to have a direct hose. but that would mean you'll be blowing rain into the car as well. And even if you have a door/flap to close the blower you'll still be gathering water from the vent; right? Other way is for the air to blow into a box and the vents to be connected to that. The wind/rain will flow into that and the water will be drained out (along with whatever leaves and debris that gets sucked into the scoop) This is the part that i was talking about.

Of course not all cars have the same ventilation methods, so its upto your good judgement to come up with a solution :)

Just a suggestion.... If you can locate a roof air vent, like the ones on the Sti RAR, maybe you could do a installation done. Although it could be risky since you will need to cut a hole in the roof. The link shows a good DIY job.

One of the issues of having the vent on the bonnet is that the air coming is heated up due to the engine, this is avoided by having it on the roof, so u get more cooler air.

CARBON B4,

if you know can you tell me from where can i get this done ? Or place to buy that scoop.

Sorry, I dont know of any place in SL where u can get one, but you could search it on e bay and get one shipped. Since its a relatively small item this should not be too much of a problem. Most local body kit guys should be able to do the installation for you....
