I wish to paint my trpet cover during my service..is it ok to do with normal paint or is there any special paint to do with it?? Pls tell me .. I ask 4m hardware store and they gave called TOA spray..is it ok..plz help guyz..

if you mean "tappet cover" you'd need to use heat resistant paint. Toa has a variant like that and it will hold up against heat while normal spray will chip and flake off.

Make sure you clean and prep the surface properly before spraying.

It is better you remove the cover form the engine clean same thoroughly, then use Toa spray dry for three hours and fix same.

To my knowledge one can is enough to do two coatings. if you use same sparingly. Without spraying on the either sides on the place you select to keep the cover.

The new can I bought last was Rs.550.00. Check up there will be cost increase.

What's the car ? let me suggest a chrome plating instead of spraying some color

Dear Bro, Don't go for TOA paint ,It will peel off with the high temp. Either you go for heat ressistant paint as Ripper told or chrome plating as hardana advised.

Heat resis. paint is bit expensive and available at marine paint shops .

you do get a heat resistant TOA branded spray cans. I used one recently on an air compressor cylinder head. Paint is holding up despite the block heating up.

Gud. Type-r engines also gets red valve covers, so red = more HP for you honda

It is highly over priced. TOA normal one can will be not more than 750/=. Heat resistant can will about 1000/= Rupees. there are other Thai made Spray cans for 600/= Rupees. I checked up from a paint shop Colombo 02.

Bought a TOA can from a Dulux shop couple of weeks back. Rs 550/-.. not heat resistant though...
