Car Selling Places

I wanted to sell my car and went to put it to the M@l@be Pu#chi car N!v@sa...

My car was actually in very good condition, but by inspecting the car they started to condemn the car and asked me to put a lesser values than what I expected to put... anyway I didnt agree and put the selling value as I expected.. vehicle was sold within 24hours...

What I feel is like, they try to convince our car is not in good condition and may be they themselves buy the car and later they sell it....

anyone havin same sort of experience???

There's this wonderful site called autolanka which lets you advertise your car for a small fee of Rs.700. Usually it's pretty easy finding a buyer on that site. I suggest you think of a fair price for your car, take it to autolanka headquaters in havelock town, get them to take pictures of the car for free and make the postingafter you pay the fee.

Those things can happen its just a market place.that's why its called "Pola".I have seen people ruin cars there.slashing doors and take the crap out of interior,treating them like for a lorry.Anywy the best thing it to advertise here or on a paper and keep yr car safe.

They just doing a business, buying a secondhand car from someone for a lesser price saying the car is not good and then they will do some minor repairs and modifications and sell the car for a much higher price.

Whenever we buying a second hand car, I think we better buy the car from the genuine owner without intermediary, but make sure to check the vehicle with a good mechanic.

I know one of my friend put his unregistered vehicle to sell to this place in Malambe, they asked him to reduce the price and display, he put the vehicle there for 1month and didn't get a single call. Then he took the car and put couple of adds in internet and news papers and sold the car. Later he found out that some scratches in the car wheel cups and buffers and had to repaint those and replace car wheel cups.

Also I have gone there to buy vehicles, most of people get into your car, close the door hardly and do what ever things that they can do.

The name itself should be an indication to avoid it like the plague! People usually go to places like that when they are desperate. When Sunday's timely ads which hit you and the website jd mentioned (wow I've never heard of that!) haven't been able to source a buyer for you car for a couple of months.

I also put my car there once and it was ruined. I had a FB15 and they totally ruined it while it was there. I was so sad i brought it home after a week. What a crap place. By the way what was the car you put there and what price did u expect and what price did they recommend?

I didn't reduce the price and it got sold within 24 hours to the price I expected....

I'm really satisfied with their service, specially they supported a lot completing the money transaction easilly and securely.

I too agree that some people do nasty things to the vehicles there, also seems it is not under their control as well...they give an insurance for the vehicles when they are kept in their premises, so hope you can claim if damage is done inside the car sale (dont know how easy to get it when it comes to a practical scenario )

Anyway, before taking the car to the sale, they check the vehicle, specially the body condition. Also what I felt was that comparing to the other places, this place you find good condition vehicles.

The issue is that they ask us to reduce the price we expect to put, where I accuse that they may put their own people and buy it and they can later sell for a higher price or they want to sell the vehicle asap and get their commision. Anyway we have to pay them Rs.15000 only if the vehicle get sold.

You know, if you sell your car at places like punchi car nivasa, you have no right to complain about bieng ripped off. What they did for 15k is the same thing you could have done for 1000 and some time out of your weekend. The whole 'completing the transaction sercurely and easily' thing is crap. If you were to sell your car on your own you would either meet the buyer at the bank, his finance company or your finance company (if you have a finance) to complete the deal. This isn't some 419 scam where the guy is in nigeria.

Places like punchi car are not there to help you make a profit, they are there to make as much a profit as they can out of YOU. Whether that means lying to you about your car or anything else, it's just business.

Actually the reason why I put my car there was the same, bec I was very busy during the weekends as well....

One of my friends also sold his FB15 manual car within few days at this place(newspaper adv and autolanka didnt work for his vehicle). He suggested the same for me and it worked for me as well....

My advice to others is that, don't agree to the price they suggest you to put. You analyze the market price and take the decision if you are to put ur vehicle in a place like this. Its true, they are doing a business!!!

Why on earth wud you put a common car like a FB15 in that place??? Surely by putting a newspaper ad, you would've sold it in a week or even less

Do they take a flat fee as their commission? LOL, then of course they are gonna ask to lower the price to sell the car. They are doing a business so can hardly blame them if someone is foolish enough to allow themselves to be a victim.
