Expand Japanese Radio Band

You you all aware govnment realloacate FM band to local radio channels and most of the stations fall over 90MHZ band (there is an exception to namals channel - sinha FM ) is there a way to expand japanese radio into 88-108 range. there is a unit to plug into antena socket but i do not know the quality of such devices. if anybody know a good solution please advice

U can change the modulator of your set up but with my previous experience with a japanese kenwood set up. i say its better to rather by a second hand full band set up.

As shiffer mentioned its better to buy a full band setup. i have tried this modulator it works fine if you only travel around once city, but when you drive long distance it starts to go crazy

Modulator is a low cost option and a simple DIY job. Most of auto electrical shops have them. price is around Rs. 250~350/=. The issue with these type of converters is that some times it is not as clear as original setup and gives lot of noise (chara chara sound) once you install the converter the tuning frequency appear in your radio set is not the actual frequency tuned in. but you can manage that with storing your favorite channels using memory function

Put a full band setup. prices starts from Rs. 4000 for normal setup with CD.

I had the same issue. i did not purchsed the locally available stuff as they are not good quality.

I got one from EBAY, a UK seller. it is crystal clear with no RF interference at all.

The sad thing is that there are some VERY nice JDM radios to be had locally, for rather cheap prices because many don't realize how good they are and get rid of them since they can't listen to those stations which make a habit of destroying the vernacular along with the english language on a daily basis.
