I soaked a sponge in warm water ( recommended instructions) and then squeezed 2-3 blobs of the paste like substance ( about 1 teaspoonful) onto the sponge. Then evenly spread the paste over about half of the shutter and in circular motions buffed the glass till it became clear (about 5-10mnts). Then I wiped off with a damp cloth and finally used glass cleaner leaving the glass nice and shiny. I repeated the process on heavy patches. A spot free surface is assured.

Did you get the MALCO thingy thru ebay?

No. I brought it from NZ for NZ$23.00 (Rs.2400) but there are a few similar poducts on ebay including Meguiars Hard Water Spot Remover for just US$11.95.

I too tried Brasso but did not get a good result. As Watchman said Brasso, like compound, basically cuts a layer off and in the process could leave the glass with hairline scratches. These products, on the other hand, I reckon would be having some chemical which interacts with the mineral component in the spots and takes it off that way leaving a scratch free 100% clean surface.

Today in the morning tried Braso while I was waiting for small one's school van :) and it worked it seems.

Need to try that in full ............. should try over the weekend ............ but my paint fellow said to dilute the effect with some thinner.....

Just to give you guys an update .......... took her to my painter and his team cleaned the windshield as well as other windows with brasso little diluted with thinner. Finally they polished the glasses and apllied some wax I guess.

A half a day job.......... 85% successfull............now I dont have issues in night driving or driving under raining .........

I Ordered the 3M DIY pack for discounted price 6.6k rupees ( 6 products including glass cleaner ) and hopefully the glass cleaner shoud keep ker clear as it is or even little better in the long run.

Thanks mate!. Planning to paint the car late April. To complete the project need to get rid of those scratches. Seems like I may need to replace the windscreen to get the perfect finish. Any guess of the price of the windscreen?

A new windscreen does seem the way out, unfortunately I am clueless of how much it would cost though I would have contacted Sam*r*singhe Windscreen House at Panchi for starters to check on the prices. Anyway best of luck with your project! :)

Have you tried anything on ebay for us to get down.

Or anything else that we can try in the local market.

No I haven't got anything from ebay as still I have the MALCO stuff remaining, but if I had to get some from ebay I would go for the Meguiars Hard Water Spot Remover (US$11.95) which is more or less the same as the MALCO water spot remover going by the description.

As for stuff from the local market I guess so far the best would be, as you say, "thinner and brasso" with the 85% local result as well!!!! :)
