Honda Fir Aria

I have a Honda Fit Aria 2007 VTEC version car. Some times when i try to start the vehicle no ignition comes. After i move the gear to R and then moved to P Or N then it's do the ignition and engine starts. What could be the problem?

Might be an issue with the neutral safety switch.It's usually located at the base of the gear stalk.Have it checked.

As Don said, most probably issue with switch located on transmission.

If that not the case, service starter motor.

thanks. i'll check on the switch. I just bought this honda fit aria VTEC version. Last time, i full tank on petrol and run in colombo normal traffic until end of fuel. it does close to 8. (7.8) i wonder on this low fuel consuption. I heard lot on honda fit aria where it does 10-11 in traffic if it's a VTEC and 12-13 if it is iDSI. Already i changed the CVT oil and engine oil too. i checked the plugs and air filter too. all are fine. what could be the problem? is i need to do a engine tune up from a honda expert??
