Look, nobody wanted you to become a member of this forum and nobody will miss you if you go away. But you have become a nuisance and I have to ask you to either fall in line with the forum rules, leave voluntarily or you will be banned.

Yes I called you "silly" because I thought you were being silly. You responded to that, and I left your comment alone and did not respond further. The last thing you can accuse the moderators of this forum of being is heavy handed, biased or unfair. So don't drag us into your delusions of grandeur. If a member aims an inappropriate comment at you, the correct course of action is to report to moderator and we will take appropriate action. The members of this forum are very open minded. Nobody has yet reported your post, but I could not simply let you drag a man's family into a petty forum argument.

PS. On a personal note (and not speaking as a moderator and a Sri Lankan) I'm an expat too, and lets be fair. We went overseas not to be of service to our motherland, but for our own personal reasons. The fact the country benefits from our remittances is a by product (agreed an important by product) of us acting in our own self interest. And the irony of your statement is that Watchman himself is also an ex-pat or the last time I checked he was.

So please don't insult the originary hard working people of Sri Lanka, who are the back bone of our nation, and accuse them living off migrant remittances. What a petty, ridiculous, and utterly despicable statement to make. If this is your honest opinion, I think everybody in this forum will join me in wishing you a long and happy stay in Japan, and may you never return to Sri Lanka again.....

making excuses like this for not taking action against your friendly members is no characteristic of a good,unbiased moderator.

You will understand my comment about expat workers,if you google what is the largest contributor to our SL GDP. and if you have studied a bit of Economics,you would understand why the SL Banking and financial system has not collapsed so far despite massive debt,wastage and Corruption.

And I would not mind a bit when I get banned for speaking the truth against such bullies like Watchdog and Crossdog(who also posted "scU*bag" just before).

And I also wish you a loooong stay in your Colonial homeland.

As my friend Peri would say, its usually pointless to try to educate moderators on how to moderate. If you don't like how the forum is run, you can complain to the admin MADZ or you can leave. Those are really your only options.

We obviously treat different members differently for a simple reason. Some of these guys have been with the forum for now close to a decade, and have added valuable content, so yes we go easy on them.

If you had any decency in you, you would have joined the same cadre.

And warning points expire after a while, and sometimes warnings are verbal warnings when we write to the user rather than add warning points.

Also in terms of my educational credentials, well lets just say those in the know who who I am and what I do. I'm perfectly aware of the contribution of migrant workers. There is even a post where I've hilighted that in response to a comment by another member. But these people who go and make contributions to Sri Lanka are mostly products of the Sri Lankan education system, whose education and primary health was paid by the Sri Lankan tax payer.

How grateful do you need to be to then turn around and acuse the same people who made you who you are to be free loaders living off your money?

And it takes a lot to make an Engineer, a Doctor etc, and not all of it is money or education. Things like work ethic, attitude come from nurture which Sri Lanka seemes to have bestowed in its sons and daughters in abundance. So Sri Lankans abroad to quite well. I myself am very proud of that fact, but I'm also proud to call myself a Sri Lankan.

I will give you one chance to respond to this productively, calm down and fall in line, or if you have any self respect just leave and spare yourself the indignity of being banned.
