Nissan March Beetle Hot Ac Problem.

I have recently bought a nissan march AK 12 2003 model (with 105000 mileage). I have noted today the hot AC is not working. And i have checked it and i noticed that the hot AC hoses were removed from the engine and hot AC outlets were connected to each other using a hose. I want to know why this hoses were removed? Is it normally done in Sri Lanka? Or if not why were they removed? Thanks.

This is sometimes done by AC basses to stop it heating up the heating element within the dashboard. They think it will help with the cooling but causes problem in regulating temperatures when you have climate control AC. Does not usually cause too much of a problem.

It is basically a hot water line from the engine.

If you are talking about the heater lines going from the radiator ( engine bay pic would help)

which heats up the element for the hot air / heater blower setup, (common setup in most vehicles, however not sure if its the same in the March)

Yes this is sometimes done, multiple reasons, Reduce coolant volume?, Improve the Cooling component efficiency, faulty internals in the hot side, damaged pipes, previous owner preferences

However this is a sign your car has been tampered with, so get your car checked for other bass related muck ups, such as Thermostat, Catalytic Converter, dodgy wiring etc

Similar bypass setup in my LR long time ago, piping still intact, the engine was imported from the middle-east, no wonder they gave up heating !
