Solar Charger On Aqua

Recently bought a Toyota Aqua (2012 Model) and it has a Small Solar panel (marked as Solar Charger) just above the steering wheel and wondering what it does?

Asked the seller but he was unable to give any idea and hence seeking experts' opinion.

is a storage box with LED illumination instrument panel installed in the driver's seat section. Illumination of blue lights in the tray in conjunction with the opening and closing of the lid. Will be useful at night and out of small articles. Because the power is supplied from a solar panel

I see a Solar panel and a flap.

Once the flap is lifted, it is hollow and no cabling can be seen from there.

been in and out of 100s of aquas for the past 6 months but never seen that O.o

It could be this and I will open it in the night to see, whether it would illuminate as stated and update.

It is just a storage box...seen it at a dealership. The solar charger is just for the light in the compartment. If I remember right it was pretty pricey too...

I don't know about others but I would say 32,400yen for a plastic box with a blue light in it is pretty pricey
