GAPAUTO
Hi all, What is the recommended allowheel size that I should choose for 1978 lancer wagon ? Right now my tire is 155R12 76SS which is 12". I don't want the change to mess my speedometer reading or lower ground clearance. GAP
The Stig
Use this to calculate http://www.wheel-size.com/calc/ What you can do is lower the profile and use a higher rim size if you don't want to alter speedo readings. 13 inch rims seem fine if you use 55% profile. Davy
I changed from the stock 12" rims to 13" alloys when I restored my Lancer wagon over 10 years ago. I cannot remember the exact tyre size that I went for, but I think it was 185/65R13 after finding out the minimal change in diameter when compared to the 12" rims. Although the width of the tyre was significantly increased (from 155 to 185), I had no issues. You can safely change the rim size without affecting the speed o' meter reading. In fact, the 5 speed Lancer SL sedan came with 13 inch rims from the factory.
GAPAUTO
Hi Guys, Thanks for the advises, I think i will look for 13" and according to http://www.ajdesigner.com/fl_tire/tire.php i think using 155/70R13 will give minimum effect on Speed Thanks
