Stearing Wheel Getting Hard

Question

I own a 2008 ist g grade.sometimes my stearing wheel get hard.before it happens d radio goes off n then d stearing get hard.very hard to turn.

Once in heavy traffic I were driving below 20 mph n suddenly d car completely stoped.this happened twice.had to change d gears to "park" n then start again.pls advice me .whts d reason.is it d motor in stearing wheel that is causing all this..urgent advice needed.thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Your drive belt must be slipping. This causes the power steering pump, alternator etc. to stop working momentarily. Probably why your radio also went off.

Make sure you get the belt inspected for wear and get the belt tightened properly if the belt is still good. If the belt is worn out, you will have to replace it. Simple job.

Adding to what Davy said, do get it checked ASAP.

Once while taking my car out of the driveway I lost power steering, A/C, etc because the belt had come off. The mechanic had forgot to tighten the tensioner properly and fortunately it happened in my driveway. Wouldn't really want that to happen while on the E-01 or something similar.

I tend to think on simillar lines of Osanda. Radio goes off and power steering getting hard (motor doesn't get power?) and vehicle stops occassionaly (ignion coil / fuel sender doesn't get power) sounds more of an electrical fault. Start from battery terminals to loosen ground wire (simple ones first) and then the fuse and relay panel to begin with
