Hi Friends, I have a axio g grade 2009 model car and I used it for 4 years now and planning to sell it and buy a new one.

My budget is 5.5 to 7 m. When I do the research below options came

Toyota Axio Hybrid 2015

Honda Grace Hybrid 2015

Toyota Prius Hybrid 2015

So I would like to know your opinion on buying a car out of above options. But if you feel some other model is better than above feel free to share that as well.

Please rate your opinion based on folllowing

1) comfort

2) Prize and the value get for that prize ( I think this is important )

3) fuel economy

4) better resale value

Regards

If Hybrid level fuel economy is not a major priority and you can live with something that does around 9-10 in the City a Mazda 6 will be on a whole different level compared to any of the options mentioned above. You can pick up a 2014 or 2015 for between 6-6.5 and even a brand new one from the agents will be slightly over 7

If considered the list you have mentioned, I would pick Prius over other two..I have driven all three cars extensively.Below are my observations by personal experience. Mind you, this is what i felt personally and this may differ for the other individuals.

Toyota Axio 2015 (New face) - My brother owns one and I have driven a long trip to Katharagama- Fairly comfortable with decent handling and pulling power. Space inside the cabin is good for a mid size sedan.

Honda Grace 2015- My best friend is having it and had a log ride up to Pasikudha- Not much of a difference in terms of comfort compared to Axio. Felt better handling and driving pressure than Axio. Good pulling power. Inside cabin space is bit smaller as I felt compared to Axio..Felt like I'm sitting inside Honda Fit GP5.

Toyota Prius 3rd Gen-2013- I owned and used for more than one year...Better comfort compared to above two (But not the best)...Better pulling power as 1800 cc..More spacier that above two..good luggage space..decent handling but to be honest Grace is having a better handling.

Overall other than the handling..Prius is having better fuel economy, comfort, value and good resale value as well..Your extended budget means you maybe trying for a 2016 new Prius which I don't have any idea.

Yeah, it feels like interior dimensions of Honda Grace are equal to Fit GP5. Even though Grace is categorized under compact sedan ,it feels more like a subcompact sedan when you're inside.

Axio hybrid is not a mid-sized sedan, it's a compact sedan.

I would like to suggest some more cars for your budget range

If you look only for hybrids Mazda Axela Skyactiv-G hybrid 2016.

Non hybrids

Mazda 3 2016

Mazda 6 2016

Toyota Premio 260 2015

Toyota Allion 260 2015

Toyota Corolla 170 2016

Since you've asked "value for the price you pay", I think Mazda 6 is the one.

I am on the market for a new car as well(sold the FD1 to my bro), My budget is the same.. Im looking at the 2011 Audi A4. A good specimen with most bells and whistles go around 6.5 Million, which I think is worth.. Its a whole better car in everyway other than fuel economy(the diesel previous models diesel Audis could shame hybrids though,no idea on the current model).. Why dont you check them out? From my experience with both euros and japs, there aint much difference in maintenance cost(saw an aqua x urban-Led pack-g grade- bumper for 350,000/= :o)

Oh yeah, I had a look at the mazda 3/Axela as well. But the interior is not that cool.most dont even get the sunroof,or wheels bigger than 16.And the 2.5 sky active is way damn expensive and rare.. The hybrid 2 ltr skyactive is priced around 6.5 Million.. (Importing would be cheaper I guess)

It's nice to hear that you're on the car hunt too.

It is true that the Mazda 3 ordered through agent doesn't come with sun roof and some more bells and whistles but I came across some Axela hybrids with sun roofs.

For me the interior was quite ok for axela and 3.

Brand new Mazda 6 with 2.5L Skyactiv engine is a bit pricey but registered ones are advertised around 6.5M. These come with more bells and whistles than 2L Mazda 6 (sun roof, Active driving display,Bi-Xenon discharge lamps and daytime running lamps, e loop braking, etc)

Brand new Mazda 6 2L is brought down by the agents for 7M. That's quite bang for the bucks considering 2016 Allions and premios are priced for 8M (sigh)

2.5L Mazda 6 is s bit rare but 2L is not.

SO Nice review

So what your advice to pick toyota prius over grace and axio hybrid.

Can you advise me on the ground clearnce of prius. As a look seems its very low and not suited for SL roads.

Even though it looks that Prius is having very low ground clearance..Axio, Grace and Prius having almost same ground clearance. Do you only consider hybrids for your purpose? If so..Mazda Axela Hybrid also within your budget i think. If you are not that concerned about hitting 20 kmpl mark..better to go for a conventional petrol car like new Mazda 6, or Toyota Premio, or Allion as all of them within your budget. Think well before deciding, don't make a wrong decision in the end having a good budget in your hand. I personally don't like hybrids over conventional petrol cars even though i used them in the past due to long distance driving on daily basis.

And one more interesting fact I came to know about Honda Grace..This was copied from a review site "As stated in the company Honda, for the passengers back row space exactly the same as in the model Honda Accord Hybrid. This was achieved due to the length of the wheelbase and well-calculated arrangement". In fact i didn't feel any difference because I was driving the car and never had a chance to go in the back seat.
