Congrats on your future acquisition. I don't think any one on AL can predict the future..We've seen so far that buying anything with with wheels gonna be a guaranteed investment

Present car market is a market after all. Like any other market the prices depend on several intangible factors. You can't do much about it can you? Whether it is good time or bad time..well only a soothsayer can predict if you believe in them. Hence your concerns should be things like your budget (capital cost+running cost) and  the requirement (whether it is for occasional or regular use, number of regular passengers, regular drive terrain - mainly city or outstation, whether the car is use for personal/office/commercial purposes, expected monthly mileage etc., ).

My budget is 2.5Mn to 2.9Mn. What are the best options I have? Im looking for a small car like hatchback. Can anyone help me on this.

If you are planing to go for a brand new vehicle, a Hyundai i10 or a Kia Picanto would be good. But I've heard that the Picanto is heavy on petrol. 

Perodua Axia would also be a good option if you could stretch your budget a bit.

Both are good cars in same price range. If you like Vitz, better to choose 1.3 not 1.0.

i used a Vitz 1L for 5 years. No big issues. of course you cant expect the pulling power of a Subaru with that engine.
