That looks like an OEM. But don't get your panties in a twist. Toyota does not make glasses/windows (no you won't find a Toyota factory manufacturing windows). they get other companies specializing in the field to do it.

On the plus side Saint-Gorbain-Sukirit is a pretty decent glass manufacturer for quite a few brands....so maybe do it for Toyota as well in certain markets. One of SGS' specialties is various automotive glazings and protectives so if this is an actual SGS glass I am pretty certain it will have the necessary UV cutting.

The fact that the window goes down without holding the button probably would not have a connection with the brand of the glass. Didn't the window have an AUTO feature before ? Maybe with the resetting of battery, etc...the while thing got reset ?

Replaced my driver side front shutter glass after an accident from Ara**an Mo**rs

However, not sure whether it is a genuine because

  1. label is different to the other original glasses. (replaced one has "saint gobain securit" and doesnt have "UV" mark) - refer attachment.
  2. Doesn't say UV in the label
  3. The auto function (when you push it down once the shutter goes down. You dont have to hold the switch) doesn't work.

Want to know,

1.can it be an original glass.

2. If not, where can i find the original part

Thanks in advance.

Unlike in earlier days most of the parts in Japanese cars now  manufacture in China or Malaysia as a measure of cost reductions. (Ex: Some electronic Sensors , Headlights & windscreens  etc.).

These  'Saint Gobain Securit'  windscreen accessories can be seen  in Japanese assembled vehicles as genuine equipment. (Ex: Mazda Axela 2004-2008 ).

So no problem it is OEM or Genuine.
