Machanical problem

Hi,

 I hv suzuki swift 2004 jeep model.

when I start it , RPm is going up and down around 1 minute with out acceleration. Also while I am driving some time i feel some time RPm is going up and down and feel  vibration . this is more if AC is on. when i drive to  hill i feel vehicle is not moving according to the acceleration(while AC off too). pls tel me what may be the problem?

Sorry to hear about your issue. To start with,

1. when was the last time you did an engine tuneup?

2. What the current millage of your car?

3. Does it show "check engine light" ?

 I buy it before few month. owner told me he did it before 5000km

To me, your symptoms look more like something to do with your fuel system. Why don't you start with a proper engine tuneup? make sure to check and clean all components like, throttle body, injectors, maf, IACV, and check your spark plugs condition and wires/ignition coil conditions and replace if necessary.

Also do you feel like your gifts shift smoothly or you need to rev higher to change the gears?

It could be due to malfunction Throttle Position Sensor as well. But i would suggest you to do a proper tuneup to see whether this issue will resolve .

Could be due to a stuck EGR. Get it checked and cleaned.

This is normally not practical unless there is a transmission related problem. sudden RPM fluctuation can not happen when the transmission is fully engaged.

But you might feel this because of "miss-fire" in quick succession. check engine light will only indicate this when it reaches to some threshold.

when someone says "RPM fluctuation at idle" , our first suspect is some problem in air path (probably IACV). but there are two kind of fluctuations,:

first one is smooth(not so rough, but you can see the RPM fluctuation) , what happen is from power stroke to stroke engine produce different amount of torque because fuel mixture is different from power stroke to stroke (system can not precisely control amount of air,fuel and their ratio).but still there is no miss-fire in this case.

second case is more rough, it is due to miss-fires. reason might be any problem in ignition electrical path, fuel path or air path (electrical path problems are common and easy to diagnose).even a compression leak can be the root cause.

My point is you are the best person to do some trails and get some hints. but fuel path (specially injectors) is the last thing you have to replace.my guess is ignition coils or wires. try to apply heavy power demand (full throttle while you are driving ). if you feel that miss-fire then starts with ignition electrical path.

it was a problem with one ignition coil and spark plugs. I replaced all..now it is ok
