Performance of Daihatsu Mira hill roads

Jayanga

Question

Hello

I am new to forum. I tried to find any previous thread on performance of Daihatsu Mira on mountain areas (eg : Kandy) because I have doubts about its 660cc engine . I was unable to find any on this matter. Can anyone own the vehicle kindly comment about the applicability of the Mira on hill roads.

Thanks

Any 660cc Mira or other will struggle in any incline, even 1000 cc, or 1300cc if it has low power.

If you want to carry loads and have pulling power to accelerate/ over take look elsewhere.

Kandy Normal hills, Can manage, slow but not absurd. Much better than an alto or maruti 800,

Can manage better if you have momentum

if you travel with 4 passengers and on a narrow road with a steep incline, 20 degrees or high  car will have issues pulling up from a stop or if you slow down,

the above results with a zero mileage engine and fresh cvt, will get worse as they age,

but in low country you ll rarely feel any Lack of power, so if you are not living 365 days in a very hilly region, it’s not an issue

Kei cars zip around on Japanese mountains all the time....granted you do have to work the engine really hard (thus the reason why I would never buy a used kei car). Won't be the same as sedan or even a 1L hatch....can't you buy a 1L hatch for the same amount of money ?
