2002 318i For 7 Million Lol

some retard just quoted me 70 lhaks for a 2002 318i. This has got to be a crime on multiple levels right??????

He attributed it to the fact that it was unregistered and being brand new or something. The whole used car scene here very cryptic to me, i see people labeling 1999-2006 models brand new, what the hell does it mean? Surely besides them buying it new from the dealer, no one is going to keep a car in their garage without driving it for a few years right (Referring to the people who say a 2000(etc) model is brand new).

7 mil...can get a used E60 M5 for a lil bit more in the US..

thats just plain stupid!!! - é highest i've been quoted was a BMW 320D on a WP-KD/A plate 2002 i belive for 6.8 million!!!!!

but as for the use of the term " Brand New" it goes to imply that the car was purchased brand new from the local agent as opposed to having it imported or bought as a "recondition" vehicle

you can see this by looking at the numbers on cars -

ex: an E39 BMW 5 series " brand new" purchase from Agents (Y.O.M 1997/8 ) = 301-xxxx

E39 BMW 5 series " reconditoned" from UK ( Y.O.M 1998 ) = WP GA/GB

reason being the whole 3yr delay when importing to reduce duty paid

but its fair to indicate é whole "BRAND NEW " thing cuz essentially with most ppl in SL they look at the registration number before they look at the year of manufacture so a used "brand new" car with the same number as a "recnditioned car" will be a minimum of 3 years NEWER than é latter!

Yeah i'm currently in sooo much pain; just got back from the US, cant seem to afford anything decent - have a bad feeling I'm gonna be stuck with my old Peugeot 206 *sigh* . However, i was really hoping that I'll be able to get a 318i for around 3 Mil since people some time back was quoting around 4 - 4.5 mil for a 320d @ a car dealer in Galle Road Bamba.....

Anyways, does anyone here know any dealers with 318i's? Loads of 320d's though....

E46 Petrols r not all that common cuz é bulk of those 320d's were bought on permits...

but it shouldnt be that hard to find one...will keep an eye out..

if its E36's - then é AL classifieds has some pretty nice specimens - & dont be too put off by car sale guys - those jokers quote some ludicrious prices but can be bargained down - 3.5-4 mil should be é rnage for a 320d with a 65- no & english numbers upto 1 mil higher depnding on condition milage n lesser if its a uk import..

Nobody bought the 318i at the time since the 320D came at a million less on the permits (2.4mil was the basic).

We bought a 318i in 1999 since the 320D wasn't available in Auto. We are still using it with about 75,000km done. We have had offers of around 4mil being a rare auto (E46). No intention of selling due to the absurd replacement cost.

but then again if its a decent car with low milage i guess its still not a bad buy - afteral , to enthisiast, whats in a number!
