They were always either Rear Wheel drive or 4Matic (meaning 4wd). The CLA and the A Class were the front wheel drive vehicles.

Whats the problem you encountered?

Can you check this specific model with the VIN number which I provided. 

(Mercedes Benz C200 AMG Premium)

You can take it to the agents and see if you can get the basic spec sheet.

C classes have always been RWD or AWD.I too am curious to know what you encountered

Well its not clear as to whether its a RWD or a AWD. If you tell me what your issue is I can help you. Are you referring to the front left and right axle in the vin decoder? There is no way the C Class came with a Front Wheel Drive only drivetrain.

If its an AWD it should have a 4MATIC badge, also the vin decoder should say 4MATIC.

You could also put it on a ramp and see if there is a drive from the gearbox to the front wheels.
