Hi Guys

Just read of a new motor oil called SINOPEC…

Well the add says that people think all great oils are form the US- this is from china …..Any 1 out there used this stuff.

I for one will not change over from Castrol but I’m sure there would be people out there who would .

Cheers

I'm sure that they are here to stay I think they are co sponsors of the Motor Show. Importer and distributor is McLarens who also do Mobil. Sinopec is the company that sponsors the Chinese F1 GP.

Recently Petro China went public on the Chinese and Hang Seng exchanges. On the 1st day of trading the company's market cap was great than the Exxon Mobil which was the largest company in the world, until that day!!!!

might be true but motor oils are a tough category to compete in IMHO :)

People are very brand loyal and won't change their oils for pricing etc...

Chances are both oils can offer the same value to the end user but still people would prefer their "trusted" brand over a new entrant...

At least on very important stuff like motor oil :)

Sinopec will have a tough time converting me off castrol and mobil and i'm sure there are many people who would be like that :)

That's right. How often do we change the oil brands we use?? It is very rare, even that would be after the consulting few people.

But then again there are few users or vehicle fleet owners who may change for a financial benifit.
