Abnormal engine sound : 2011 Lancer

Hello everyone, please refer to the sound below. In my 2011 Lancer, when I drive at a constant speed, an abnormal sound comes from the engine area. I recently changed all the pulleys because of this. Any advice on this?

Did changing the pulleys fix it? I also have this in my G11 and goes away when increase the rpm a little bit. Usually comes around 1500-1800 rpm

Nop, same like yours, its still not fixed even changed pulleys , same as your 1500-1800 RPM..

Is it a rattle? Does it sound a bit like pebbles in a tin can? Can't hear when the vehicle is idling and accelerating in neutral/park, only appears when car is on the move?

Same issue discussed here, but no any proper solution,

In my case sounds more like a loose spinning chain noise. I thought it might be the timing chain but it doesn't happen in idle or when revving in neutral

Is it as bad as the reddit video? The faint "pebbles in a tin can" noise @ 1200 - 2500 RPM is an inherent characteristic of 4A9 engines but it shouldn't be as bad as the video above.

We don't have an automatic tensioner in our 4A9s, it's got a mechanical one so even though the sound is somewhat similar that can't be the reason in your case

Yes, it's as bad as that video. I think this is a common issue. As long as it doesn’t affect my engine, I’ll just go with it. I even went to a local Mitsubishi dealer, but they couldn’t find the issue either. 😞

If it's a loose timing chain the rattle should be heard at engine startup and then disappear afaik

Hmm. I too can sometimes hear the faint "pebbles in a tin can" noise in my Lancer but it's never this loud, the phone mic can't even pick it up. 🤔

no mchan it never happens on startup, idle or while revving in neutral/parking. Only happens while moving around 1500-1800 rpm

Do you have a self adjusting drive belt tensioner? Maybe it's the same sound as in that reddit post
