no that's not hte car i'm referring to.. these are legit evo's imported as cedias. there is one in the kandy area for sale. they want 6 mil or somethign for it :D

there are others as well.

Where is this car? Anyways evo 7/8 is going around 6 Mil, no need to get one that is imported as a cedia paying that amount.

as far as i know agent have to give a valuation of the vehicle according to that only they calculate the tax. so the agent will be able to spot the swap. best option is to bring down a impreza and then convert it into a wrx just like what **** did.

Hi "xXx",

Your rite abt the valuation part, the AGENTS do the valuation, but rarely does it have any sort of gripping effect on the taxes........ but the tax structure in SL (the moderator would only be fair if he doesnt delete this word) is a "bitch"....... I dnt knw whether your aware of this but the governemnt charges a 199% tax on all vehicles above the 1.6L (1600cc)......therefore the standard Impreza which is a 1.5L (1500cc) is not subjected to that much of an unfair tax....the 2.0L (2000cc) WRX STi or a standard WRX for that matter gets so ridiculous in price because of this reason.... I'm sure this info was put forward just to inform the public....lets hope one day the Governemnt will lift these unfair structures away.

Cheers

What if i tell u guys that a STi 9 Type RA Spec C is also in SL....heh heh... :hah:

Andrew,

Is this car a road runner or brouht down for competing? Not sure which 9th gneration STi your reffering to........and yes, your rite...there are many more awsome cars lined up to hit the shores of our country :( .

Cheers

ashan thanks for backing up my statement. ######## give very high valuations for mitsubishis this was a major problem when those small petrol vans came down to sri lanka on the other hand senok is quite reasonable.

fuzzo is right, this is how a well renowned carsale is able to sell vehicles at a very cheap price. (moderator if this statement is inappropriate please delete it)

over here…. any body can afford a second hand high class car .....even a university student can buy a second hand bmw..….i feel really sorry for our people…..no matter how hard we shout i think it’s pointless…you know why?….as an example…. once you turn on the t.v … all these political programs are showing the education of the politicians shouting at each other for power…so the up coming generation also have that mentality of taking revenge… look at these programs our buggers are still fighting for 1970’s 1980’s stories instead of talking peacefully how to build this ivory dot in the indian ocean…..What about the country?….still the same! … once a election comes the government party takes all the money from the public sectors & the other party is taking all the money from the high class business men ….just imagine they are spending millions of poor sri lankans money towards elections, publicity & for the blady posters… so once the government wins they have no money in the ministries or to run the country…in case the other party comes to the power they have to pay back to all high class people who they lend money…..how do they pay back…. they give contracts… eg:- road contracts or in any other ways… so who is getting rich? and who is suffering?…. most of the top class people & politicians children 99% they are studying aboard….why?... they know the value of our education in our country ( NO FUTURE )…. how many thousands of talented poor kids are suffering in villages without drinking water, consumer goods & food....does anyone care?.. no body… I’ve been to kokilai, jafna area as a group with my school junior OB in 2002… …little kids wearing polythene to cover their nudity….and these f*****’* are still talking how many they kill in the past & sill talking about their wife’s in public instead of taking care of the country….. what’s wrong with these fools…. these buggers are giving the wrong image to the up coming generation…so once they comes to power they are doing the same thing…… i don’t know and i don’t think who ever comes to the power they care?.... .i think to cover the deaths ..they are charging high volume of tax on poor people!.......

Machan xxx you are right…insurance is kind of killing but if you have a clean driving record without accidents, speeding, careless driving….i don’t think it’s a big issue…….coz my in-low is paying only $75 for his 2003 brand new BMW 325i….that’s nothing…..you have to prove to the country that you are a good driver … other vice we all are screwed big time …………specially under 25 ……. :jumping-smiley-013:

In that case try to avoid the UK, i'm 20 and paying £1200 for a 1991 Honda civic 1.4 GL, that's 4 times the value of the car!! I've got a clean license and also did an advanced driving course after I passed my test!! Count yourselves lucky! :jumping-smiley-013:

to add to that insurance doesnt only apply to ur age, but also to ur location, where u park it, how popular it is amongst thieves n how prone to accidents it is too (how powerful etc etc) so we indeed r lucky to hav an edge over the rest wit respect to insurance but the cost of insurance stil dsnt add up to the tax we pay here...the added few $1000 for insurance is still nothing compared to the added $10000 in tax

btw u cant even rent a car till ur 23 in uk

checked out the insurance quote for a impreza sti5,(with cat1 alarm and all) on an int' driving license 247 pounds a month, here in uk .then i asked how about a Skyline?, (because u can pick one up for a bout 4 or 5,000 ponds.. the man said we dont even touch them. so if u are a performance car buff u are f***ed..

I would love to get down a pulser gti (only about 3500 pounds) to sl but these are all my93 or my94...what are the chances of that happening? anyone know if this is possible to do...?

you won't be able to import the gti, unless you have a good pull with the right ministers.. you next option is to do the converstion here...

i have only seen 1 gtir and that is dinesh J's. looks petty nice and heard that it moves

I bet it does.the pulsar Gti-R specs here are quite awsom, modified beyond comprehention. and going cheap due to insurance ,book value and what not. but i would imagine it would be a killer drag car man! further more it looks pretty brutal..

PS: any idea if you could still get down engines?

Dinesh J has a GTiR? Damn. I'm gonna have to forget the fact that the man races Hondas and have a chat. :alc: Suddenly I see an opportunity for that Featured driver/car thing Madz was talking of. Me go take photos of GTiR. Me Tarzan, Hear me Roar!

And Overdrive, yeah, it does have some awesome specs. It comes in 3rd on my list of favourite Nissans
