GTAm
Here are some pics of the DBS that was accidently crashed while filming the new Bond movie. And a clip of the many of the cars. The chase cars are supposedly Alfa 159s.
Watchman
the article i read from the MSN news-feed said that it had gone into the lake while being taken to the shooting area.. strange.. it also said that there was sonly one car made available for the shooting of the movie. Something i found hard to believe considering its a James Bond movie, and obviously money is no object when it comes to buying a few cars for Bond;) though from looking at the video i see its clearly a BAD article considering that there are a good 5-6 DBSs on location.... Kinda eager to see this movie... at least they have a car chase in it, unlike the last one where they just started the car drove it a mile or so and wrecked it... Yes the car chases have always been great! And yep that.....was it like a 60 second drive in Casino Royale(?) was absurd.
Devinda_Z
Turns out that the drivers on the set of "Quantum of Solace" are having a really nasty run Stunt driver Aris Comninos is in critical consition after a driving chase scene went pear shaped and is said to have suffered serious head injuries It had happened when filming a stunt on a winding road in Brescia when the Alfa 159 he was driving ploughed into a truck! Another stunt driver Bruno Verdirosi had also been injured in the crash This is the third car smash-up on set and had happened a week after the DBs crash about which this thread was originally opened And just hours after that another stuntman had been injured in a seperate crash
Devinda_Z
Right news flash , ANOTHER AM DBS has been wrecked on the set of the Quantum of Solace! but this time its said to be actually for the movie - apparently the director wanted to spice up the opening scene with a crash! GTAm your probably gonna love the scene cuz its said to entail two Alfa's hunting down the DBS on a windy road in the Alps!
miniace
Quote ‘Quantum of Solace’ Filming Suspended! Filming on the new James Bond film in Italy has been suspended after three accidents hit the production in five days. The latest incident left Aris Comninos, Greek stuntman, in a coma after his car, Alfa Romeo 159 collided with a lorry and then crashed into a wall. Alfa Romeo crashed into a wall during a chase sequence involving a truck and Bond’s Aston Martin along the Gardesana, a curvy, two-lane lakeside road with gorgeous panoramas and many tunnels. Comninos suffered a fractured cranium during the filming of a dramatic 15-minute car chase which opens the ‘Quantum of Solace.’ His co-driver, Bruno Verdirosi, was also treated in hospital but is not said to be in a serious condition. Devinda_Z
someone should add a pole to this to see what everyone thinks about the unusually high number of accidents... 1. Careless Driving 2. Sabotage 3. Hoodoo

Yes its very exciting indeed. The Alfistis are speculating if its the new engine under the bonnet - either the 3.2 Twin Turbo Diesel or the all new Alfa only petrol V6. The fans are understandably quite dissappointed with the GM source iron block. I think I should schedule an overseas trip for November so that I can see it on wide screen and avoid having to by a cheap DVD.
Jaliya48
It's a cryin shame to destroy gorgeous cars for entertainment... Just drive them hard, we'll be entertained!

The ones available right after the movie premiere are lousy camera copies. That said, there's nothing like going to a cinema for me.......Pop corn and Portello Actually its the only instance I drink a sweet fizzy drink . Devinda_Z
Bond sells ruined DBS The Aston Martin DBS that crashed and sank to the bottom of Lake Garda during filming for the new Bond film Quantum of Solace has been bought by a collector for £200,000. The DBS was destroyed in early April, when the driver – an Aston Martin engineer - lost control of the car during a torrential race storm. The Aston smashed through the barriers and sank to the bottom of Lake Garda, with the driver unconscious inside. He regained consciousness when the car hit the bottom of the lake, and swam 150 feet to the surface with only minor injuries. The car was, unsurprisingly, a complete write-off, but that didn’t dissuade the unnamed enthusiast from paying some £64,000 over the list price of a brand new, working DBS for a piece of battered Bond memorabilia. Maybe he’s hoping it’ll buff out. This news has us even more confused about the whole credit crunch, though. On the one hand, we’re being told that we can’t have a Hyundai Genesis Coupe because it’s too pricey, but on the other we’re told that the Ferrari California is sold out until 2010, almost all the Aston One-77s have already been bought and that a smashed-up, rusty lump of soggy DBS is worth £200k. What’s going on? Wonder what he'd pay for a ruined One-77? Source : TopGear

Watchman
it was quite a good movie. the car-chase was much better than casino royale. though it was at the very beginning and that was it. but the movie itself was quite exciting.. the storyline is very good (continuation from Cas.Royale).. and the cinematography was simply stunning, with good focus on exotic location etc etc. its worth waiting for a good quality DVD rather than watch a horrible camera copy. GTAm
Was to go to Hong Kong next week and was hoping to watch it there. But now it seems my visit will be postponed to December. Hope I won't miss it. Being a big Bond fan who keeps watching the old ones over and over again the suspense is killing me . Btw what's everyone's favourite 3 1) Bond Movies 2) Bond Car Chases? 3) Bond Girls? Mine are, in the order given, 1) For Your Eyes only, The Living Daylights, The World is Not Enough 2) The 2CV vs the Pug 504s in FYEO, The Alfetta GTV6 vs the BM 5ers in Octopussy and Bond on foot chasing the Merc W116 in FYEO. 3) Major Anya Amasova - Babara Bach (my all time fave!) in the Spy who loved me, Elektra King - Sophie Marceu in The World is not enough and ........ Oh tough one......... Lupe Lamora - Talisa Soto in Licence to Kill. Although I seriously would not refuse all the others either

GTAm
Favourite Actor - Timothy Dalton - For me he was the closest to Ian Fleming's character. Favourite Car - Mettalic Rust Lotus Esprit Turbo in For Your Eyes Only with the Skiis on top. I know it did not do much but it's the coolest for me
