When Will Tata Nano Be Available In Sri Lanka?

Do you people have any idea of when will Tata Nano (http://tatanano.inservices.tatamotors.com/tatamotors/) be availabe in Sri Lanka ?

As reported, the car is having a fuel economy of 22 - 25 Km per litre.

22-25 might be in "ideal" conditions which are not so practical in real life me thinks

no idea when Nano will make and entry into the local scene though... I'm assuming that government will start some form of taxing to keep the numbers from jumping up drastically since this will be the cheapest B/new car in our market

Even if it does arrive here, with tax and all, it will probably be around 550 - 750k

so long for the concept of buying a "one-lahk-car" ( 2.3 lhaks) in Sri Lanka

Guys, if im not mistaken, there is a dealer of this "Nano Fuel Saver" or (something i cant remember) located in Battaramulla. they have some kind of a HOSE which they fix around the fuel line in the engine.

i'm not sure you guys speek about the same. but, i have couple of friends who purchased this thing and say is not worth buying it.

Wonder how well this'll do in the Euro NCAP.

Btw, if you have one you can say that you've got your own 'rear engine rear wheel drive' car :D

You can say that if you have a Micro or a Three wheeler too.

Or you can call it what JC fondly calls the Porsche owners. The "Arse Engined Brigade" :)

The most ridiculous waste of time and money I have seen. With absolutely no crumple zone, 1mm thick steel, fuel tank right in front of the driver, plastic bits and pieces that start rattling at anything more than 40, high centre of gravity, this is bound to appeal only an exceptional idiot.

It's no different than the Prius with an LS swap. I think it's meant to be a "circus freak" than an actual performance car.
