V*P Motorcades And Harassment Of Motorists...how Long Should We Take This Crap!

well...it's nothing new to be stuck in traffic cos the bloody roads are closed to ensure safe passage of some lucky V*P fella living off public funds in luxury been driven in bullet proof vehicles with all perks under the sun...

what i cant take is that these morons now even going to the extent of physically abusing property of motorists...

I was stuck in yesterday near Thurststan college cos some hot shot was passing on flower road towards royal college.

And the funny thing was, another motorcade had got stuck to that traffic near Thurstan and the fellows were like 10-12 cars behind me...

The moment the first V*P dude buggered off and the road was opened...the second presumably smaller-shot V*P motorcade started to rip through traffic... I saw them from my mirrors getting onto the pavement etc etc and coming towards me at speed...

So i stopped my car and waited for them to pass cos that gave them space in front of my car to get back onto the road... i couldn't move to the left lane cos that was full of traffic...

Firstly the outrider military folks came and at the speed they overtook me and cut in front my car to get back to the road...the pillion rider made contact with my right side mirror... next comes another army biker and this time the outrider purposely hit at my mirror

i was like...WTF... i gave way for that worthless piece of crap to pass and still get treated like that????

if i had a bloody RPG or summin i would've taken them out myself

Thanks to politicos and their stooges using all their might against innocent civilians...their little puppets like these outrider fellows have got balls to go and abuse the powers they've been given...we can't do anything cos they've got guns and even shooting for some made up reason will be justified later...

And the worst thing is that nobody gives a damn and nobody wants to stand up for what's right

I think you'll find mate that a great majority of people are fed to the back teeth with the behaviour of the Arseholes that call themselves the "Representatives of the people".... only issue is the folks who are fed up live in colombo and therefore get to see first hand the excesses and abuses of the Bigwigs... the "People", a.k.a those that actually wield the majority of the vote are rather less well informed and continue to buy the spin that the MR regime have become masters at...

As to standing up for what is right, again i suppose there needs to be some form of coherent coordination of this standing up, which is what is lacking at the moment.... If we can get something off the ground, Im sure there will be scores of people willing to lend weight to it.

same here machang i hate this morons ..... u kw once near town hall when i was coming home frm school some time back a rider was hit by a school van and u should hv seen how these buggers reacted to that ...it was the riders fault not the school van guys but because they hv the unlimited power they act like they own the bloddy place and it's like their parents property ( may be they over reacted a bit cos there were a lot of HOT chicks in the van ) dunno ...

i really encounter alot of this stuff in a day to day basis when i was in SL cos the whole parliment road used to be close cos of these morons waht to do guys ... we live in SRILANKA ....

but i think may be if these buggers are that much important to the society.... i can't see why cos it's better off with out them ...:LOL the government can buy some bell 212's and just let them use it or rent it off so they can go to where ever they want ... less problems to public less ammount of security needed and i guess less in cost ..

well its a real nuisance indeed no doubt about it..its going to get worse this month with the SAARC summit taking place..just imagine the situation of roads around colombo when presidents of 7 countries are being ferried around town..it would be total chaos and i am sure half of colombo roads will be sealed off.

Nothing happened to my mirror cos it retracted...but i was shocked at the way they behaved even after me doing all to give them way...

buggers want us to just vanish from the road when they drive in??? bloody idiots don't understand that you can't just take a car completely out of their way in a traffic packed road...

These escort folks act with absolute impunity cos they know with present situ they can show all their colors, do anything and get away with it

agreed...the issue is that they don't give a damn about normal motorists and practical issues on roads...

what these guys don't understand is that you can't move vehicles the way they want them to be moved on a congested road... just because a motorcade is behind me doesn't mean i get free space to move my vehicle out of their path...

And even when you do your best to accommodate these guys what do they do...try to bash my mirror

On the SAARC summit, its disgusting that the roads can be mended in a hurry to impress foreign leaders while the same repairs could have been planned and done to benefit the SL motorists.

well i have my doubts about the quality of the work on these roads cos if it's done in a hurry and the main objective is to impress a set of folks for a limited time... they might get all busted up pretty soon

And man some roads outside of colombo city limits are horrendous..

The practise is the front vehicle keys are taken by the security.

Last evening I was made to wait 30 minutes, cos some Ididot had parked a Prado in front of mine and not given the key to security. Even though I had complained to hotel security it was of no use cos when they had asked to move the vehicle the response had been "Api MSD eke" meaning we're from the Ministrial Security..

Since I could not wait any longer, I had to zig-zag about a zillion times as there was no more than one foot distance from either front or back, to move out.

Pathetic... I guess it's a price to pay in Banana Republic..

what one could do in such an instance is let the air out of 2 tires and go off.... causing physical damage to the vehicle is pointless cos the driver aint paying out of his pockets to repair it, but making them change 2 of those heavy tyres on a prado, would give you a a piece of mind...
