Yeah I agree, but mine is the 1498 cc version and thus technically its not an Abarth. The 1600 & 1800s I feel will make a rather nice Abarth, but mine I am gonna keep her original. Oh well, Thanks for the input mates and will see how the cookie crumbles....... Dark colours also will not show the mud / dirt too much....considering I live in the village area...... Mud : Well I have always been a practical bloke, and after having many white / light coloured cars and spending hours primping them, only to have a small mudhole spoil hours of work....I have decided to ensure all my cars are NOT white. I have never been one to show off, and hence the Psuedo Abarth will not work for me as I know its not real. (Never mind what others think). Like some who put "M" sport badges on a 316.......... What colour is the 2CV going to be? I know the frustrations of restoration. In fact my ones are now driving me off the edge. Yes White is THE Abarth colour. But what do you think of the gray? Btw M-tech styling option are available from the factory Lol, I knew that was coming. BUT I did those modifications as I felt the Autozam after 10 years of owning her needed a cosmetic upgrade, and as I have mentioned the Lights which had those plastic covers were yellowed, and I had no other option at that time. Only now do you get projectors in the original shape. Again, what I did was for me, and as you will attest the car was a good drive. I never tried to make it look like a Lambo nor did I put psuedo " 6 cylinder" or V6 stickers on my car. Never did I try to drag with a BMW 320 for example in some misguided notion that my old mazda with a bodykit makes it faster than a proper sports car? Even the 4 pipes actually worked. Oi and btw that "god almighty spoiler" I copied from the WRC and I liked it. Kept all my glasses and bottles on it during some sessions. lol. very stable....ha ha

Yes maybe it's a bit too modern for your car. Then you can go for Lancia Blu which funny enough was a Fiat colour in the 70's. It's important IMO to get an original colour as even subtle deviation could upset the car. After all as you know Italians are artists above all. Just look at that X 1/9 that's being advertised. One of the reason not many people are attracted to it is that hideous colour that's off a Honda CRV! If the same car had it's original blackish green it might have been a different story. Sure looks like a Mazda hatch.

pradfred
About the poser Abarth................Prad didn't you have a poser Escort with stripes ? Poser escort? P*** off mate, it was in the process of being made into a mexico when I went out of the country and my dad sold the car ! After spending mucho moolah with a proper restorer (who is now not in that field) you know who I mean, ...I had even sourced a 1600 engine, when it all went to pot. Those stripes were PAINTED ON - not stickered - the easy way out. This thread is becoming a pradfred bashing one I reckon, and I don't like this poking stuff so I am gonna get off and stay off. They are quite pricey in other markets. I asked about the 2CV era because I feel its nice to choose a colour from that era. many people choose mdern colours for older cars and they seldom match.
