No need to be discouraged. I think the thing is, rather than having a formal club structure, the forums work well enough. Get people together online, volunteer and organize stuff. It works. Most of the time

well my view is we dont need to have a formal club...i dont know about others but i really dont like to get tied up with official stuff. my view is that it will spoil our fun and freedom.

with the current structure we all have the freedom of organizing events and get-together's and have fun. the only problem is that we cant have motor racing events..but i doubt anyone here is interested going to that extent since it required our everyday running motor car to have roller cages ect for them the best option would be to join any of the existing motor racing clubs.

going OT i thought of issuing an AL membership card (none official) which you guys can get discounts from various motor related company's who are interested in joining hands with AL family. in that way we can have a informal club with less rules and regulations and same time benefiting ourselves in our day to day activities.

Good Idea.

I thought of this Membership card with a photograph long ago. Also you can charge a reasonable annual membership fee to cover the cost of the membership card and other expenses. And this will reduce the people down to a group of genuine members.

I'd say it's a 'GO'!!! First i will have to create a list of people who are interested on this project...a detail analysis need to be done before starting!!

For that I need all of your support...everything depends on user response...so let's give it a try and see..nothing to loose!

just started reading the thread and the question "why do we need a club.. arent things going great the way it is?" came to mind, but then MADZ addressed it.. with 'clubs' come in politics and red-tape... and AL does just great without either one of those

And I do think MADZ's idea about 'membership' is a good one.. though he'll have to come up with a criteria that filters the membership in a way thats fair on both members and AL..

And then you also mention criteria for membership , so that we can emulate all those formal clubs ?

The idea here was that we all help Madz & AL, plan the get togethers and have fun.

Also the discussion started as some of us were talking about doing a few weekend trips et al, and thus was born the idea.

Just a gathering of friends similar to the AL gatherings and nothing formal. I fully agree with the comments that we do not need another club etc but then my dear pals who will actually do this ?

Hence the part about a few of the "Enthu" buggers all meeting up and trying to plan some fun. That was all.

I have seen the Al gatherings and the supercar events and those are fantastic and hats off to the org. team.

Anyway I think my enthusiasm got the better of me, so apologies and lets terminate this thread and this idea.

Hay prad let me briefly explain how things work in here. Well it's all happening on voluntary basis. Like Preveen explained, first we discuss it online, and if there are any volunteers we split work and start organizing the event...and most of the time it works

i'd say no politics, less trouble would be much better...and we do maintain standards when ever possible.
