What To Buy - For Between 500k-900k?

I am new to this site & may have posted in the wrong place.

Can someone advice me about following:

I want to take a less than 3 yr old, double cab Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara or L200 from London

It will cost in London about £10,000 (Rs/= 17.5 mil)

Shipping & Ins £2000 , a Total of £12,000 (Rs/= 21 mil)

What will be the import duty & tax (all sorts of taxes, bit lost in this respect) in SL ?

How much will one of these, to buy in SL ?

As I had been kiving & working in UK for 20 yrs (SL passport holder) is there any other permit (not a gift permit),which I can use which will reduce the total cost ?

I guess my original idea to have descriptions and experiences was quite far fetched, so lets continue in the list format... any extra info of course, will be appreciated.

My choices (will probably add a few later)

BMW E30 3 Series - A good one will be a decent drive, reliable, relatively economical, "interesting" and can be maintained at reasonable cost if approached right

Mazda Astina - Looks cool, drives well, good prices and reliable runner.

Mazda Interplay - As above, More conventional though

Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno/Corolla Levin - The legendary "hachi roku", RWD Chassis, Toyota reliability, practical and with great tuning potential. Good ones are kinda hard to find though

Alfa Romeo 33 - Most are at the lower end of the price band, but definitely the left-field choice here. Fun drive, not expensive to run if you find a good one (So says our resident alfisti), and it's an ALFA!!!

Mini - Blast to drive, economical, characterful..... can be a hassle as a daily driver though, and reliability is questionable.

Honda CRX 2nd Gen - Light weight, nice handling, decent pace, Honda reliability.

Nissan Presea First Gen - All the sensibleness of a doctor sunny, in a much nicer looking wrapping.

Subaru Legacy RS First Gen - Subaru, All Wheel drive, Turbo. What more do ya need? Good luck finding one though.

What are the most suitable cars for girl at this range. to use for about 2 - 3 years.

Any corolla II, starlets (i noticed the english numbers price of starlets has increase during this month), Any mitsubithis / Nissans ... going at that range?

Kia pride, Mazda Familia are some of the models that should fall in that price range.

Not sure of the other models.

Also you can check out some of the Hyundai models as well.

I think you have covered all. KIA/Hyundai the new ones (small cars) are not that expensive.

Hey guys, want some advice here. Found a Subaru Impreza 1995 in 19- plates in the paper, can I know much that is worth? I haven't seen it yet so don't know the condition, but he says brand new imported and good condition now, but having difficulty in turning as he can't see cuz of the long bonnet (must be a tiny person). Anyway, the price is 8.35, for who hasn't seen, worth it? Can't still find a proper Integra, so for now I thought of an EG8 or this, which is better? Has an EJ16 1.6L engine with 4WD drive, A/C, P/S etc. But I'm not sure if it's part time or full time 4WD, someone please tell?

used tata nano? isn't tata nanos recently introduced to sl and all most all of them are use in taxi companies.

Wow, just the thread I was looking for. Looking for a car with character within a range of Rs.500k - 750k. The below specs are borrowed heavily from http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/anythinggoes/archive/2011/07/04/i-ll-buy-your-car.aspx

I will listen to any suggestions, silly or otherwise you have in mind for me. I have an irrational liking for Mini lately.

Condition. Well the body does not have to be A1 as I plan to use it daily with a max commute of 10 kms.

Powerplant. Petrol please and the size of the engine is irrelevant, but a large characterful one will be fine, as would a small eager one.

Bodywork. I will take a saloon, a coupe, a hatch, or even a huge estate.

Fuel consumption. I don't give a damn, smiles per gallon matter more than mpg.

Nanos are available for general customers so there would be used ones 4 sure....
