Anyone knows about law regarding displaying vehicle registration numbers?

Is it a must to have light on rear number plate?

Is there a law regarding colors of the rear and front number plates (non-english of cause)

Well I brought a Mazda MX-3 recently :rolleyes: .

If somebody came closer to car he want see the front number plate at all.

It is visible from some distance though.

Will this be an issue?

Well there are lot of vehicles with White letters on black background on front number plates. So are they illegal?

I think its legal. But some ppl are using those kind of number plates.

Try to make a standard color number plate. :)

Very sorry for the "illegal" word, instead of legal. I have used the wrong word to the wrong place. Sorry for the messed up. :(. Its my bad.

I have edited my previous post.

I think this should be legal colors.

Rear - Yellow background, Black letters

Front - White Background, Black Letters

This is correct only for the Govt Supplied English regd plates.

For Pre-English plates its should be

Rear - Luminous Yellow background, Black letters & Numbers

Front - Black Background, White Letters & numbers

Law is still valid about the shape of the number plate as well.

No other letters of signs should be displayed .

Number plate should be illuminated to read from 10m distance in night.

LOLZ :lol: BTW I have seen Toyota Hiace With Illuminated front num plates. Guess it came in only passenger modles :unsure:

while on the subject, I've seen a few cars with pre-english reg numbers fitted with num-plates looking very much like the authentic english plates;

i.e. WP 300-####

how does one get these done? from the RMV or are there buggers outside producing these?

Let me add the law for mini coaches and passenger coaches for pre-english plates that is rear plate should be on a white background with red numbers. Check those 30 Sri and 60 vans and buses.

RMV doesn't do these kind of number plates (WP 300-####). Some number plate makers are doing these kind of work.

There are many places do -near authentic plates.Need info?

But remember its illegal to carry WPs and Ps or Ds on old type plates.
