Problems In Corolla 110

Edward

Question

Hi Guys,

I bought a corolla 110, 1999 model. Auto transmissiom. petrol car. I do have the following problems in it. Please help me to get rid of these problems.

1. The oil light blinks, some times when the car is in running. But the oil level is correct. What can be the reason?

2. The seat belt, does not go back to its original position, when released some times. But hangs like a rope.

3. The engine speed goes up, when the car is in nutral ( The rpm goes upto 1000 & come back to 800 some times)

i've been meaning to ask my self...

whats the connection to Bruce motors?

Hi Dilesh & DevindaZ, Well to start answering your questions, Bruce Nigel "Bruce Motor Sports" is "THE mechanic" to me coz he has done wonders in giving solutions to vehicle related issues!!! I have seen him diagnose A to Z of all mechanical & Electronic errors in any vehicle. I think he got the talent from his younger age where he has done all sorts of crazy experiments & tests that he imagined while dreaming that now he masterminds the industry!!! Well I'll put all my trust on him on tuning my car!!!

Two cases..either you've swiched off the OD select. If not you got a faulty speed sensor.Faulty speed sensor prevents OD engage. Most likely its the case #2 since other shift changes are smooth.

Hi,

You mean to say, mostly it only senser, if yes, where can I get it checked. Is there any one who can check & replace & senser for me.

Mini, I'm not an expert but I made that statement based on my experience. In the morning until the engine temperature comes to a certain point OD doesn't work. At least in my vehicle (Toyota Carina).

I’m quoting this regard to the FB15 we had. It doesn’t take long to operate the O/D even in a morning start. May be because Nissan engines pick the engine heat relatively fast.

I'm on Mini on this..... its quite illogical to wait till you reach working temp to be able to shift to OD, cos that'd mean that you wont go beyond maybe 70-80kmph after you cold-start the engine.. and clearly this is not a case... YOU probably should get your transmission checked out yourself!

Mini, read http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/AT10.pdf (page 144) carefully.

The average SL ambient temperature is calculated as 30 degrees Celcius.mostly is higher in actual.Any automobiles reach 40-60 Celcius operational temperatures within seconds of functions. So what you mentioned is not valid for tropical countries.A faulty sensor leaves the lock-up solonoid circuit open not closed.
