And whats the difference between a Ceres and Marino. is it similar to a comparison between a Sprinter and a Corolla?

Machan the main difference is the engine. AE100 came with a 1500cc 5A-FE engine, and the EE101 had the 1300cc 4E-FE engine.

If you need advise on a choice, I would recommend the AE100. (I use a 93 Corolla AE100 which is very economical & reliable)

Most of the time the EE101 is marketed by the sellers as economical, but the 1.3 engine is quite under-powered for this sort of a car.

Mind you, the 4E engine is also a very reliable one, but its most suited for something like a Starlet. (Starlet actually comes with this engine)

well i have a 1997 toyota sprinter marino.. it is AE101 and has a 4AFE engine which is 1600cc... ceres is the corolla version and marino is the sprinter version.. you can find the word "corolla" at the back of ceres and "sprinter" at the back of marino.

The Ceres/Marino is a sexy 90's car. If I had the money, I'd get one and drop in a 4A-GE with a supercharger into it.

Do not confuse with AE101 (1.6), EE101 (1.3) and AE100 (1.5)

I think it is not a wise idea to compare AE100 marino/ceres with AE110 but definitly the resale value and spare pars are bit lesser for marino/ceres in spite of being a pretty sporty looking car!
