Hi, guys.. Today my car fully repaired with excellent condition and now working smoothly.. Totally cost me 136k.

congratz mate! did you rebuild the engine in the end? where did you source the parts and the engine(if applicable)? who was the mechanic? i am sure the information will be very valuable to all.

I used genuine parts from toyota lanka.. Coz there's no reconditioned parts available for this model.. Piston rings and gasket imported from japan directly..

Gasket cost Rs.9000

All 6 piston rings Rs 22000

and 4 pencil ignition coil I bougt from toyota lanka and it cost 45000 and other 2 i imported from my friend in singapore and it cost 20000. Full t-belt kit with razor also replaced and it cost me 15000. My mechanic guy is very goodman, all fittings were done by him self and he asked 9000 for all.. Last tune up done by mag city in kandy

My machanic guy is a son of my father's cousing brother.. He worked in dubai for past 3 years and just come for SL, and when the job was started, he doesn't have any tools for the work.. But thanks to his friend he manage to get some tools from his friend's place..

that's quite an expensive lesson you've learnt there mate :)

glad to hear she's back on track...

i bet from now on you'll glance at the temp gauge from time to time :)

I know macho, this car model is very rare in sri lanka.. But in brazil and jameica its widely used for taxi services.. So in japan also it can get with low as half of this.. But what to do? No time to contact anyone in there and I don't think that I have.

Actually I replaced the 4 on my BM recently Genuine BM parts - Power ERA coils - 4 cost me 6000 + 2000 shipping from UK :) Courtesy of Ebay. It pays to keep an eye open. I had got 4 and kept a while back - then suddenly blew one - engine was stuttering - diags revealed that Coilpack no 1 was non functional. :) Useful to have a couple spare cause its a common problem on the petrol bm;s.

Its like a baby now, no smoke no noisy sounds.. Running with maximum performance and best fuel economy.

good for you!...but take it easy for atleast the first 500 kilometeres,avoid any harsh revving and give the the engine time to "season" itself.
