I know! the moment i was told my post was OT, i smelled a big fish with a silver spoon up its ass! But we cant quite throw around accusations, so maybe Peri can help get to the root of it...

:)

But presuming it IS the same fish, how jobless and useless must one be to have to ak himself questions just so that he can answer.

So if sylvi is a troll (which we all know to be true) why isn't he getting banned? Is he like the village retard that annoys us but we still love having him around regardless?

OT: you know Supra, if you had enough money to last you 2 generations, would you buy yourself a nice hi-ace or would you get a full-lease on a bucket of chinese crap?

hehe... is that even a question?

perhaps the chinese buy was because certain people with silver spoons up their nether regions figured that it would be easier to take off fanbelts and rewire distributor caps to drive through floods to provide oil cooling etc. I mean jap engines dont really take very well to Tim Taylor Technology, maybe the chinese motors are more receptive?

Dear Thanu,

You did not mention about your MX7.I like to hear about things happened when you were in Micro at Cotta.Do you think microcars Ltd reveal their initial customer details to me ?I agree with you about build quality .As it is new to us.Those drivers do not maintain their vans properly, even do not wash it.Dust found everywhere in the cabin.SLT using micro means it is good for HARD use.So I think the build quality of micro vans are not so bad.

Well, there is a small grain of sense here. A van is most likely used as a commercial vehicle, it might not have the same level of care lavished on it as a personal car. So you do need to consider if running from 100k to 150k on a commercially used Jap van or 0-50k on a cheap China brand new will cost less in that running. There will be other factors, like size, cargo capacity, fuel consumption under load, so the Jap might actually come out on top, but how clear cut is it?

Jap buddy van or Chinese buddy van, again, not so clear. These aren't quality vehicles built to last. They are built to be cheap and beat tax laws and stuff.

I mean, I don't endorse Chinese vehicles, certainly not for personal use.

But commercially as short term cargo vehicle, I don't have enough info to make a choice. Thats just an A to B job, nothing fancy.

U can find my answer in post no 22.

And I didn't say since SLT is using them they are good. What I said was go and check out a vehicle or have a chat with a driver so U can have some idea.

And plz I don't know anything abt micro other than what I said, not abt reversal of prices, or any thing. Just give a call to them U can find answers for all ur questions.

maybe and maybe not but my personal view is that quite possibly SLT using these vans are more politically motivated!

from what i heard...certain VVIP's own stocks of micro cars!

I must say... i was in a micro van for 30 minutes and i had a back pain... i mean seats are very uncomfortable.. and steering is choppy.. ya build quality isnt good.so i guess a used jap vehicle will be better if u want to use it for sometime..

Thanks,Dear Kalana,

Do you expect the quality of a NOAH from a Buddy ?Micros have all adjustable seats that can be set by the passenger which jap buddies do not have.

Kalana just mentioned what he experiene in a micro van. What he 'expected' out of it is irellavent to your purchasing dicision.

The man just gave you his opinion (which you asked for). If you're that keen on adjustable seats then do go ahead. No-one's stopping you.

Too old with more than 150000km.

I wouldn't call 150,000 km a lot. My Jeep has more than 242,000 km and my dad's noah has more than 300,000 km. Both have barely had any problems except replacing parts that are expected to wear out.

Mr. Dilku,

Please be patient for another 30 to 60 days lot of Vehicles are coming to the country new and used there is no more reconditioned Vehicles all Japanese Vehicles are coming to the country with a certificate the condition of the Vehicle.

You will be able to buy a good used vehicle within your 1.4 M.

As Vehicles come To Srilanka importers adjust the mileage meter. To impress buyers the have done very low KMs.

Used Vehicles in Srilanka mileage no one can guarantee.

This morning I had a Email from a Chinese Exporter US$ 7000.00 for a Petrol Van 1300cc I think that allso too much because their amount was US$ 5000.00 early two months ago. They know that Srilanka duty has come down.

PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT PROMOTING CHINESE VEHICLES.

You are not PROMOTING CHINESE VEHICLES ,but just replying to me .Your chana got trouble because of a other reason. And it is not a bad van.We can see chinese cars ,trucks even TRAINS here in Srilanka. So many MICRO SUVs , Vans and cars are running without any trouble .Which are LOCALLY BUILT and maintain the international standards.

Just go for a japanese van. I think the daihatsu are the best. Failing that thedre are plenty of choices for reliable jap vans, both registered and unregistered.

Not sure when these were posted of the current values but use them as a reference

http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=29206

If brand new vehicles are available people do not go for jap used .Brandnew vehicles are come from India,China,Thailand ,Korea etc.For example compare these figures of ALTO usage.

Brandnew -India Used Jap

95% 5%

:D
