China is well known for manufacturing cheap products in large quantities.

This applies for not only automobiles, but everything.

Take a Chinese phone for example. There are enough people who bought them. It will be advertised as having all features of a well known brand.

But take a closer look ! How many Chinese phone users are satisfied with them? only a handful.

True that, once Japanese vehicles were looked down upon. But from the beginning they concentrated on quality for reasonable price, a philosophy even the American big 3 lost against. Big 3 could not make Americans buy american.

Chinese have the cheap part but lacks the quality part.

Talking about chinese phone.. it's really annoying when these chinese phones rings.. most of them does not have volumn control or a silent option if the do not want to answer to call. Sorry about going OT

OK say we on on your logic and people hardly run their vehicles and sell in 2 3 years.

A corolla you bought 3 years ago for around 1mil can be sold for almost around the same price if not higher.

But a chinese vehicle you bought for 3 years for around 1mil probably wont fetch even .7mil... IIRC even a chinese van suer on the forum testified to the same in a previous post once.. and at the end of the 3 years you would have spent a fair bit of money on repairs that pertain due to the lack of durability, quality (and maybe even safety)...

So in the end you WILL be at a greater loss should you go with the chinese option..

PS: regarding the term "value-for-money" you used... you are considering only the value at the point of purchase, while the rest of us are talking of the value you get throughout the entire duration you use the vehicle. Cos at the end of the day, a jap vehicle ends up an asset while a chinese one ends up a liability. You should know about these concepts considering where you work...

Sir,

One post said plug and play throw out.

My Technical back ground did not teach me that.

I was thought to repair rebuild as much as possible last was to replace a part with a new one.

I have no regrets for the cost what I paid and what I studied Chinese Vehicle and their short coming into operation

Please note I went for a Chinese Vehicle to find out how they give a Vehicle so cheap and their durability.

There are lot of Chinese made Vehicles are sold in Srilanka market I do work with them closely and most have brake problems Clutch problems very little in the Engines.

Early 1960 no body in Srilanka wanted Japanese Vehicles Satosa (CWE) was first to get down Isuzu heavy Vehicles.

I do not want to write all names of dealers who imported Japanese Vehicles during that era.

Peoples Bank had two cars in 1960 Toyota. If I am not mistaken one was a luxury car for their Chairman

Japan improved lot after Expo 1970 in their Vehicles.

I do not condemn them it all depends on a user. How you look after the Vehicle.

We still have West Vehicle lovers in our forum who uses Peugeot Mini.

Mr. Dilesh,

Please do not say our country is in a shit State.

This is our mother land this is a Paradise Perl of the Indian Ocean Have history for more than 2500 years.

It is the fault of our top administration P#######s. Every one is power hungry and to make Quick money bags.

This forum is for motorists I like to add some thing about Japanese and Chinese Vehicles.

for instance any vehicle if you do not do necessary daily check ups and correct services will not last long.

I definitely say most expensive vehicle also have to follow the above.

Few decades back most of Indian illegal (Kalla thonis) arrived to our country for better prospects.

With free economy in India they do not want to come to our country any more.

You can see the Indian TATA Laylend Maruti and MB is made in that country. They are marketed in Srilanka.

Mr. Dilku,

You all are welcome.

I had a Chat with Micro Sales Manager he was formally at INDRA and ISHARA.I know him for last 15 years.

I had look of the vehicle for the price it is OK.

Yesterday one Toyota car was cleared from the port and it was sold for 2.4m profit was .3 m.

This vehicle before the duty reduction was offered for .6M CIF Japan now paid after 1.1M.

This is what still importers have as their profit so please be patient for few days more if you want Japanese you don't go for Suzuki mini van which comes from Singapore With 1.3CC engine.

Or two months time Chinese new improved Chana is going to come petrol 1.3 CC engine with Duel A/C and will be around 1.1M to 1.2M.

It would be much appreciated if you use your words with wisdom :angry-smiley-024: Read your post again and you will know why. I believe racismis not tollerated in any part of AL and it will be good on you to maintain your limits. I assume the mods will look more into it.

Cheers

PS - It has been told as a paradise but I have never seen it in that way!

To come back on topic, I've been looking at some of the latest Suzuki Every vans, and they are _extremely_ well spec'd out. I mean climate control, power window on the sliding door(s), power sliding door(s), rear seat cup holders. Those are MPV specs, and if the ride is as sweet, then one would be hard pressed not to buy one.

Sir,

I appreciate your post you have misunderstood same.

You say you believe racism and you say to write with wisdom I am not a Racialism like late Hitler.

Can you explain where I have done any discrimination to other national dignity in my post.

I have written facts and how Indian people were called during 1950 to 1970. illegal migrants our Navy and Police was in alert those days for above said fact in my post

I am a Catholic in Church we sit and pray with all people we never discriminate any other nationality of origin.

I still believe Srilanka is a paradise because I have seen the west and the east world it is Rat race as told by all others.

I think what he means is that China provides these vans at cost and even pay for the shipping and handling by themselves. We all know that China has always helped the world and has never done anything for profit or their own economic and military interests.
