this is a free country dude..hence i dont need ur permission to put my opinion in this forum..dont try to be another mervin silva...and talking about wrenches..well u were not even in your mother's womb when i started to touch wrenches and start to work with metals ....

oh my god you are retarded.

1. This isn't a free country. Never has been.

2. An opinion would be telling us that Anna Nicole Smith has huge breasts. What you are doing is demanding that people follow your advise to not buy Indian bikes.

3. what do you mean work with metals? I guess we all work with metals in a way. We drive cars made out of metal and use many different kinds of metals in our daily lives.

Dude rememebr to bring this up when the whole gang is bashing Maruti's next time.

good point....had that in the back of my mind too...

I think how the maruti bashing started was after a lame guerrilla marketing stunt by certain "concerned" individuals who were trying to portray things about it that was not true...

I don't see the same thing happening with indian bikes...at least not yet...

nobody is raving about mpg figures and how long their indian bike lasted and how much performance you get out of it etc etc...

if those are brought in i bet indian bikes too well get bashed for trying to be something it's not..

mmm...tvs...afraid i have to tell u the truth..it's worst than bajaj in every deparment..any how what's ur ride. apache? flame?...

you had to buy a suzuki gn125(my all time favourite)..even a recondition one you can buy around 180k to 200k...unregistered one is around 280,000 to 300,000 ..spare parts are every where and if u ask me petrol consumption..it's more than 50kmpl..i can guarantee that..so if u can sell your bike that will be the best decision u could take .. :)

gn125.jpg

you cannot get 50KMPL in the GN 125............i am sure of that.......unless you are riding at 40km and not in traffic. This is just a myth.I owed one a few years back.It did give 58KMpl at first then it dropped to 43KMPL.This is is the norm in every bike

So how old are you? 68,69? Are you related to one Mr. Silvy Wijesinghe by any chance?

I think it should be the "round head" pulsar which was the early model. I have ridden them and they were quite good. I can't see anything going wrong if it is maintained properly since had a mate who met many accidents and did stupid things with his Pulsar and it still kept going.

Yeah, it is the old round headlight model. Pretty solid & trouble free. Very impressive for an Indian bike. Maintenance cost is also very low.

So true agreed many million times, and to add some thing wouldn't be a free country either. looking at the current trends - Atleast for the next 50 years or more.

unbelievable.... I asked one of these guys who wanted the constitution amended if he knew what the constitution was and he had no idea. These are probably the same people that invested their life savings in pyramid schemes and Sakvithi. Seriously, what has this country come to?

I work for the media and I think people should really avoid listening or watching the news. If the press isn't free, what point is there in a press? It's kinda like big corporations publishing articles on how well they are doing in order to lure more investors even though in reality it would be a horrible investment.

I have owned a CBZ back home in the days and have ridden a variety of Bajaj, Hero Honda, TVS models in SL and newer powerful Jap models overseas. Overall I wouldn't say the quality is not that bad. You get what you pay for in the price tag. TVS was a little bit bad quality bit less resale value but they all sounded good and were very economical too. My friend had a Hero Honda CD100 (I think that's the model) which gave him 90km/l and he used to travel a lot for cheap. SL is not a rich country for every one to own Jap, Euro, Italian bikes. These serve the poor man well and give them a chance of mobility too. I don't think any bike deserves to be burnt. If you don't like it - simply walk away. If these is some manufacture default, point it out with evidence so other riders will be careful on those models. Laughing at a burnt bike and saying they are shitty is purely BS. There are times I miss my CBZ even after being on some pretty powerful bikes. Comparing to those Japs is not possible. But still I love the way she sounded and the nice memories it gave are unforgettable. May be just a personal thing for me only.

Very very well said skyline, i really appreciate what you have said,in my opinion it is not that indians cannot make powerful bikes to match the japanese, well they have a different market to cater to.it does not mean that sharukh khan is useless when compared to Bradd pitt, or bajaj is slower than Aprilla , the point of manufacturing is the main goal and here is it is cheap transport. The same thing that honda did in the 1960's and we know where the super cub is at the moment considered all time greatest bike that is still being made.

Why do we always consider the speed and looks to the european and japanese bikes.i am sure if the Japanese start making bikes based on fuel consumption the indians would give a good run for there money.

If Tata can purchase Jaguar(correct me here if I am wrong) and india has it.s own satelite in space built by there own scientist , there is no reason that they cant do this.It is that they cater to a different market, anyone who has learnt about Micheal porter and his theory in Business Mgt should know of this. This is the same case in china too.First mass production then comes the specilisation items and brand building, with all the financial resources they have made by mass production. This is the norm.We will be seeing newer and better products by these countries in years to come.America and europe have passed this stage already about 50 years back.before the WW1 and WW2.Japan did it in the 60's,70's and the 80's.

Finally speaking the CBZ was a good bike, I have ridden it and i think it has the best engine beat of all indian bikes specially in 2nd and 3rd. I like the older one that came in 2003/2004 ,pretty quick for 150cc and overtaking was a breeze in narrow srilankan lanes.I am not happy about the newer CBZ however.

This was mine. A 2005 CBZ Star. The second generation one. Same here. Don't like the new Hunk but have never ridden it though. Btw I think Tata bought Land Rover but LR might own some stake in Jag (Might be wrong)

The only glitch was the 1 down 4 up gear system which would destroy your shoe pretty soon......... :P
