Cant say how many but for a fact I know of the one owned by Mr. Rohan De Silva, reputed formula driver (its now with the son-in-law or maybe in the son-in-laws garage), there was another which was raced succesfully by Shanaka Ambrose (Fox Hill Super Car Event 1st Place) Then there was this that was raced recently by some person by the name of Mario Dias. Thats as far as I know but who knows, there are so many cars in the country which most do not even know of existance.

oh.. i d forgotten that you wanted to get the quality to the tops.. lolz.. to drown out the engine sound i saw in a auto show that a Lotus model uses reversed sound waves to cancel out the sound from the outside.. if your is gonna be such a system, it's going to cost loads!

Bought the sound dampening mats from Wurth, I wanted to get Dynamat Extreme but then the import cost and price of the roll came out to about $100 more than the Wurth stuff so I went with the Wurth mats. Still cost a capload to cover the car from Bonnet to Trunk but is well worth if you're planning on running Dynaudio, Precision Power, Tara Labs and Eclipse

Sorry folks I do not know about the money I will have to spend on the vehicle. But hey this is what I'll do.

Car: Ford Escort Mark1 $ 1500/= (thats what I'm selling mine for) it will be a 1300GT

Lets see what I'll do.

Firstly High lift cam,

Webber Carbs $ 500

K& N 57i Performance Injection Kits $120

Close ratio 5 speed gearbox change the final drive.

Uprated brakes + uprated suspension

Power Steering.

Turbo kit.

Interior of course I will put in a pioneer sound system worth about $300 plus normal Pioneer speakers (wont be fitting a amp or subwoofer to save on weight cos the car itself will weigh a lot).

WIll fir a turbo boost gauge cos I'm putting a turbo kit.

Interior will be stripped out. with little carpeting.

Tyres will be Yokohama A021R 13" with Compomotive ML 13" alloys. ($ 520)

Thats about sums it up. But sure to be below the given $20,000 limit.

Sounds like a fun project for sure and very doable at low cost, my only suggestion would be if you are planning on going boost maybe you should look to switching over to EFI as opposed to Dl Carb.

Bro the car is in Sri Lanka currently getting some ricey stuff done to it, want to upgrade it to a Spec-R. Color is a secret currently as it is part of the 'ricing' hehehe. I have a tonne of parts going to be available soon and can offload some to you, all my parts are either from USA, Japan or Aussie, all are genuine no I don't have a bunch of stickers on the side

These cars and most Nissan take very well to mods and are a pleasure to work on. Soon on offer will be my HKS Piggyback ECU and Pacesetter header. Fitted right it will make ur car haul ass! Can help you with that also if you like.

Hey why dont you buy the mk1 advertised last sunday and do all this stuff to it, the vehicle was in good nick and owner was asking for a good price, I also had the idea, could have borrowed ma friends Range classic V8 and put it in there and done some stuff to it.
