B11 had a 1300CC engine, HB11 had a 1500CC engine. There was also an HB11 turbo version and a diesel version with a 1700CC engine which was known as SB11 I think. Its a 30 year old car. Dont be fooled by long buffer short buffer stories. Just try to get hold of one in good condition. Highest grade at that time was known as Laurel Spirit, which came with a nicer grille and few more options.

You need to do two things. Two very important things in the given order. 1. Avoid Mag Sh*tty always 2. Check the clutch pedal spring. May be get it oiled If item 2 above doesn't solve your problem, you can show the car to a competent mechanic

What Are The Things That I Have To Change On My Newly Bought Used Car?
Crosswind replied to MiraOwner's question in Mechanical problems
@Don - He owns an L700 Mira, which looks same as Kelisa not Viva. Kelisas have 850CC and 1000CC non-VVT engines. Vivas have same capacity VVT engines. However, JDM Miras came with 650CC engine. Owing to the bad power to weight ratio, Mira would do a bit lower than a Kelisa on fuel. -
That's how you preserve the virginity

at last some common sense...

Clearly Wikipedia has been used for guerilla marketing by Maruti staff. As for your question, yes there are manufacturers who build aluminium engine blocks (Toyota/Nissan included - afaik Vitz 1000CC engine is all aluminium). Main reason is aluminium is lightweight and provides better power to weight ratio. When the car itself is not designed with durability in mind (it's been a while since the days of Morris Minors and Peugeot 504s), durability of the engine is of least concern.

I've seen a place in Kohuwala junction that does number plates. It's right on the junction, you just can't miss it. But their work doesn't seem to be as good as the Darley Road ones. There's another place right below the Maradana overhead bridge. You could always park your car somewhere closeby and walk to Darley Road. None of the touts would bother.
-
Not really mate. Number plate makers do exist in Darley Road and they have a selection of fonts. U can get a pair of plates done for about 1500. Much cheaper than the 28500 you need to spend to make your car look like an old lady with loads of new makeup

You need to ask this from RMV 011-2694331

Hahahaha... didn't anyone tell you that watchman rides a motorbike? Or couldn't you figure that out when he said smaller engine and 28km/ltr? This is what happens when your mouth is faster than your brain. So try some brain exercises

Car Front Door Glass Beading/sealer - Where Can Find Used/new ?
Crosswind replied to nish1's topic in General Automotive
I beg to differ on that one. If you ask for a cheap beading, they will give u a cheap one which will need multibond to fix it. Obviously it will be ugly. If you ask for a good quality one, which comes at a premium. this will be clipped in to the door panel, then it won't look cheap or ugly. -

You can get good quality ones from LP Gunaratna, darley road. Unlikely that they will be originals though. -
Doesn't this statement give an indication of this guy's knowledge?

There must be a few vehicles in this country that have done 800000 or more. Only trouble is their odometers will show low mileages )

It takes a very special person to give all his personal information in a public forum and then show off his dumbness!

Machan don't you think if the accident is bad enough to deploy all airbags, you will probably have to write off the car? So why worry about replacing cost of all 6 airbags?
-
Agree machan. But most of them are like LRs and Jeeps and similar vehicles which are bought by enthusiasts and they don't mind spending to get them in to great shape. And then they use those vehicles. On the other hand machan, what's the likelihood of somebody buying a Lite Ace which has gone thru a full frontal and restore it to use it?
-
So here's an advance warning to vehicle buyers out there. If a guy named Nilantha Athurupana tries to sell a van to you in the next few months, don't buy it.

1999 Suzuki Swift was known as Suzuki Cultus in most markets. If you search for Cultus manual, I am sure you will find.

Is there any place which sells original Continental (Germany) tyres in Sri Lanka? Sooner or later, I am gonna need a set of tyres for my car and they originally came with Continental tyres. So I prefer to stick to them/
-
The only place in Sri lanka you could get one of those for 1.8million LKR is probably an insurance yard

Geez! @OP - I presume you must have found a 1.3 manual Singapore 121 or a 1.3 Manual B/N imported 121. Even then I think it's a good price if the car is in good condition. However, you may not have much pulling power or fuel efficiency in the 121.

Using the words 'restore' and 'how much in reality these Jeeps can be sold quickly' in the same thread, does give that impression. If you ARE willing to go ahead with the restoration, you should first look at your budget, time availability and whether you are really passionate about the vehicle. FYI, the only time I did a restoration was back in 2004-05 and when I eventually sold off the car, I lost well over 150,000 on it (we are talking about a car worth about 600k at that time, so 150k is big money).
-
Seems you are trying to do a patch up job and flog it off. Rather than take that path, why not sell it off as it is and let the guy who buys it, do a good job of restoring it?
