Sri Lankan Second Hand Vehicle Market Comparison
fookie replied to sathyajithj99's question in Car Buying Information
Yeah man experienced that my self as well . It was really difficult to find a good one for sale. And the ones, that were left either high milage ones or changed hands few times. These were a though sell I guess. Mazda's constantly get good reviews on the net , so I guess it will help them in coming years. Just check on asking price of an Astina . fanboyism -
Sri Lankan Second Hand Vehicle Market Comparison
fookie replied to sathyajithj99's question in Car Buying Information
I am glad Mazda is last , hope it would be like that for coming years. So we can afford stylish , fun to drive cars rather than overpriced ones that every Tom, Dick and Harry buys.- 30 replies

I guess people have a thing black vehicles. Personally prefers a black 141 rather than other colors . If I am looking for 141 I would look for , Black -- > Metallic Green ---- > Silver ---> White on a 141.
-
Glad you figured that out mate , if you want to buy a Toyota car at a reasonable price 141 corolla is the right choice. The market value will depend a lot on the color and black one will fetch more. You will be able to find specimens from 27 - 28.5. You will be overpaying if you are paying more. If it's a an Axio its gonna be in 30-32 range. 33 MAX . Anything more than that you are better off with an NZT260 or a late NZT240 anniversary model. @sathyajithj99 stop talking bullshit. you should step out from your imaginary world.

Could anybody tell me about the fuel consumption of a petrol one ?

Hi Guys, I am planning to buy a Mazda Axela , it would be great if someone could shed some light on the following questions I have. 1 . Does these cars come with a timming chain or a belt ? 2. Does Axela and Mazda 3 (Brand new) version has two different gear boxes (triptronic) , or is it the same ? 3. What would be a good price to pay for a 2003/2004 Axela in good condition ? (About 2.3M ?) Thanks in advance

Hi Guys , sorry for hijacking the thread. Why do people close the heater line and loop it ? One of AC mechanics tried to do it in my car but I insisted. Does it have any affect ?

Pulling Issue When There's A Load On Rear Tires
fookie replied to Amila G's topic in General Automotive
Well I've been going to this place for two years now, recommended by my uncle . As I heard its one of the first places SL that started doing Wheel Alignment in SL . Only draw back is weekends it's gets little crowded so you may have to go early in the morning or make an appointment. I think they do have a compturzied system but no ones uses it and everyone comes to do it the old fashioned way. -
yes you can , but why do you want change to super diesel at first place? I think you gonna waste your money pumping super to a 2C engine.

As I've heard jFBK is a decent brand

Just out of curiosity , Does the certain variants of D8 came with climate controlled AC ?

It seems for a more comfortable ride I should have oil shocks. Would durability will be a concern under SL conditions ?
-
Hi guys , It's time to replace shocks in my car as well . But before I make the purchase I want to know which type of shocks are better , gas or oil ones ?
-
Hey Guys thanks for the quick replies , I think I better check my both front and rear brakes . I added the break oil for the first time on my car and its nearing 80k on the ODO. However, I was told since the pads have worn I need to add a little bit to keep the pressure. Is there a truth in this? I only add few drops and it was like two months ago. Ever since it hasn't gone down. So I dont suspect a leak . BTW any recommended brands for breakpads ?
-
Hey Guys, I am having a concern about my breaks as well. Usually when I am breaking in traffic I hear a hear a slight grinding noise and feel some drag which wasn't before. Then I recently had to add little bit of break oil as well. Is there anyway I can tell the pads have worn out or the problem is with the brushes on rear drums. As I have heard both produces the grinding noise ? Thanks in advance

Our 2WD toyota double cab (LN85 If I remember properly) used to deliver figures close to our CE110, sometimes even better.

Hey , I think 29k far too expensive . I replaced my CVjoint in my corolla few months back and the cost was around 7k for a CVJoint. The brand was HDK as i could remember . no complaints yet.
-
I guess its safer to stick to Toyota motor oil , I'll check about the prices. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for reply VVTi. I want to know above mentioned Mobil brand types are compatible with Dextron II spec. , because they have not specified it specifically. If anyone can tell me the suitable brand type which adheres to DII spec, it would be really helpful. So I can go to the shop and buy it directly rather than relying on the words of the shopkeeper.

Hey Guys, I am going to change my ATF for the first time in my CE110, so I am being extra cautious. I am thinking of replacing oil with Mobil brand oil and my dipstick says I should use Dexron II . Can anyone tell me the specific model of oil I should buy, whether Mobil Dexron-VI ATF , Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF or Mobil ATF 3309 ?? If these are not available in SL , What should I use ? Thanks in advance

Hey Guys , All four of my power shutters are not working , I am suspecting a blown fuse. Can anybody tell me the location of the fuse box that contains fuse for the power shutters in a CE110 corolla. The fuse box near the engine compartment does not seems to have it , I looked under the steering wheel in order to find a fuse box. But Couldn't. Is there a second fuse box ?? If so where is it ? Thanks in advance.
