Request Information On A Good Mechanic/ Workshop And Discussion

Is Saman back or was it Sandun? I thought he moved to Canada or s'thing -
If you are double clutching to change gears it could be that your synchro's are damaged. Performance clutch pressure plates dish out more pressure to keep the disc from slipping when there is alot of torque thats why it's stiff but AFAIK it doesn't need double clutching.

I don't know about other engines but the 4age 20v Blacktop it's quite another story. When the 20v is cold the thermostat shuts off the path to the radiator and the water pump circulates water within the block. When it's hot and fully open it shuts off the internal circulation path from the rounded part at the bottom of the thermostat. So it draws water from the radiator. This means that without a thermostat the 20v tends to overheat since the pump finds it easier to circulate water within the engine block and cannot run, just builds up heat. And this is what I found sometime back when I bought the car . A maka baas had forced it open to get around this issue.

I can also vouch for amayama. Alot cheaper than buying through the agent. They use EMS if you order from Japan and it'll silently pass through customs if you're lucky. Ordering through UAE is a different story. They DHL it and gets taxed for the "declared" value. But they are good at finding rare stuff fast!

I've also considered this for my Carina GT but are they any better than the stock wires?

Same here. Found their work decent but a bit pricy. They wanted 8500 for the injector + throttle body + spark plug cleanup since my car has 4 throttles. They also cleaned the IACV valve. Total was some 11K with 1 set of O rings and 1 set of insulators for the injectors. The A*NU guy is a bit inexperienced when it comes to setting the machine up with side feed injectors though. Took quite some time just to get the thing started. But overall happy.

Saw a add on popular free classifieds site for a 4age Black top with ECU for 150K. Didn't look too good though.

Well Toyo never really officially made a 7A-GE. Its enthusiast made by sticking a 4A-GE head on a 1.8L 7A-FE block.

Does this mean we'll see a AE86 restoration thread soon? AFAIK if you're going for a blacktop you'd need to hammer a dent in the firewall to make the dizzy fit, if it's not done already. Or else u'd need a relocation kit to set it up on the front. Lots of resources online!

What is this repair you're talking about that exists in 318i facelifts?
