Well. Me too has to refill my battery as the water level is low. But haven't done this before. Can you guys explain how to re fill correctly. (with distilled water) Do I need to disconnect the battery first? Is there a specific limit to re fill?

Well I have a similar issue in my CB2. The noise comes mostly when I drive in 3rd or 4th gear when I press on gas hardly in low speeds while engine is hot. Couldn't determine whether this is related to tappets or not. Any help appreciated.

Finding even a good CB1 for 800K could be bit hard these days. But worth trying. Apart from that both Wira and Trad looks ok for me. (wira is far newer than trad btw)

Yes. Actually this all happened after a tune up I did some time ago. Everything was fine before that. I think the guy messed up with already working order choke. He cleaned distributor cap as well. Also there's a small miss in the morning.

Could somebody shed some light please? It took much effort to start her today morning. engine fires up but stops in 1-2 seconds. manged to keep engine running after 4-5 times of cranking and revving hardly until the engine got heated.

Some old American cars came with Positive ground connection as I know.

I think those indicator lights are still off and that's how they are marked in this model. If turned on they should show bright red color. (It's the same way we had in our old Largo)

Hi Friends, I'm having bit of issues when starting my car in the morning or whatever time when engine is cold. This is a Lancer CB2 with 4g15 carb engine. Have two problems actually. 1. when I crank the engine in cold it would start right away and rpm jumps to around 1300 for around 2-3 seconds and then comes back to around 300. Again the choke kicks in and rpm again goes above 1000 for a minite and again come down afterwards. Sometimes the engine stops unless I rev it for bit. RPM keeps fluctating like this until the engine gets heated up for normal operating temp. (To put it simply fast idling happens only time to time ) Once the engine heated up rpm settles around 700 and no issues afterwards. How to solve this? choke seems not working continuously. 2. Other problem is related to riding experience. I could hear engine knock when pressing on gas hard in mostly in 3rd & 4th gears. Have noticed this happens only after engine got heated up for normal operating temp and until that knocking will not occur. And I don't see any lag in pulling power nor other riding issues . What could be the reason ? Note: I'm not actually sure whether this is engine knock sound. But the sound is similar when we try to press more gas when rpm is low for that particular gear. Appreciate your valuable advices on this. Thanks.

Normal reputed AC joints will do this much as the same way as big shots. I serviced my AC for 5750 which included replacing a hose and welding condenser. (Near Battaramulla)

No it's just a top-up. But as you can see this happened in April and the issue came again in August. Then I did a full AC service after finding a leak in condensor.

I had the same issue about 2 months ago. Got surprised once I found all the gas has drained suddenly (compressor not kicking at all) and it worked fine in the day before. Took the car to a AC joint and serviced the system. Apparently there was a leak in the condensor and had to be welded. They also replaced a hose and then filled it with gas. cost 5750 bucks.

Sorry for being late to reply Sylvi. I put the battery to slow charging yesterday and took it back today morning. Yes the issue is now sorted and everything works fine. Thanks a lot for paying much attention on this. Hoping to get more advices from you guys in future and thanks again !!

Yeah exactly that's what I'm thinking too. I'm not in a rush since this car is not my daily runner anayway.

I just checked the lights now (after coming home from office), it seems battery has completely drained. Ignition lights are dim. Signal lights or head lights doesn't work at all.
