How to verify jaai, jevic, sterling certification
Hyaenidae replied to KasunC's question in Car Buying Information
An experienced importer has many a dodge... it is illegal to tamper with the mileage before sending the vehicle in for JAAI/JEVIC inspection but it's being done - NAK databases or other safety measures are not that effective. They do offer a forensic examination of the odometer for an added price but it's not mandatory - so no, JAAI/JEVIC certificates are not 100% trustworthy -

Vehicle Service Stations & How They Cheat Their Customers.

Obviously, it's a fake... See that note; it says they removed all the electrical equipment. Why would they remove the door cover, remove all the electrical equipment, fix the door cover again and pressure wash it? They could've cleaned everything when they disassembled the door in order to remove the electrical equipment, couldn't they?- 47 replies

No occupant of the said vehicle would've died if all of them were wearing seatbelts imo. Vezel collided with the WR head-on on the driver's side, Driver side of the wagonR took the worst of the brunt but the driver didn't suffer critical injuries

Auto Miraj customer service! If something goes missing from your car at their premises, this is what will happen - they hold absolutely no responsibility - and what's more, you'll get a beating from them for spending your hard earned money at their business.- 47 replies

You do have the tachometer, right? If the rpm drops as it does in this video after it changes a gear, it's a conventional auto. If it just keeps climbing like this it's a CVT

I don't have one machan, these images are from the "quick" classifieds site. My 1600CC Lancer does 9-10 within the city and 15+ outstation.

UNIMO did the same to me on my last service. about .5-1cm above the mark I guess. Since the oil overfill warning light didn't trigger I guess it's all right to leave it as it is, right? The car is a Lancer ex.

What's the purpose of this blue tint?

I didn't understand this part... Did you mean there's only 1 inch of clearance between the floor and the brake pedal when the brakes are functioning normally? According to my owners manual, it should be 3+ inches (85mm)

You can go for a 2003 Lancer CS1 for your budget... They are brand new imports and the agent still has parts for those. -
No 3rd party seller promises manufacturer's warranty and recalls support - unfortunately many car buyers in Sri Lanka doesn't care if they get it or not. I guess more than 50% of unregistered car buyers aren't even aware of the existence of recalls

@PreseaLover The car looks mighty fine mate! Congrats! It looks even better than the Presea (to me anyway.) Does the driver's side door have a color mismatch? Maybe it's the camera angle... I still think you should open a dedicated thread for the car
