guys.

jus wanna knw abt subaru fuel efficiency..

any ideas?

It's like asking the 0 - 100 figures on a Corolla... :P wont be impressive..

In my opinion, a Subaru should be admired for it's technology and driving pleasure.. NOT fuel economy.

ohhhh here we go again....

I can assure you , you wont get 12, 15 etc + in city traffic in most Subaru's

This is like people asking me if I get '8' from the Alfa.... ;)

Funny people these Fuel junkies are, for them anything less than 10km/l is blasphemy, an engine bigger than the magic number, 1.8, is beyond comprehension... almost like the string theory.

And 2 more pistons on top of the 4 already there is again, quantum physics.... :action-smiley-060:

I had an interesting conversation once with a FB15 driver who was throughly shocked to hear the Alfa's numbers.... :)

I suppose you are talking about an Impreza, for which I have no clue about, however as for the Sti 9, it does 5 or 6 kmpl in the traffic and 2 or 3 kmpl on open roads or at night....

And Sara, usually people don't get a subie for their fuel efficiency. You're better off not getting one unless you plan to rev these motors. Tis like Angelina Jolie getting married to George Michael you know ... so messed up.

The GC8 impreza does 8-9 kmpl max in City driving

has subaru ever produced just one car?

1+...it's like asking fuel efficacy of a toyota? :P

suppose one has to read their mind to figure out which model it is :P

Why is fuel 'efficiency' and Subaru in the same sentence? LOL

Just kidding - I also wonder at the obsession with fuel efficiency that we hv in SL. :)

I'm suprised more people aren't buying bullock carts these days. Fuel does not cost anything (just find a patch of grass on the side of the road to refuel). Also the feces produced can be used to create methane which can in turn be used to power your radio using a small generator.

i thought it was indians who are obssesed with fuel Effecency.. think its rubbing off here as well.. but i think compared to india we are far better breed of people when it comes to the fuel question...

have u guys seen that indian add where the guy is supper rich and he is trying to buy a luxuary yaught and after all the features are explaned to him.. he thinks and asks how much it does on fuel.. the sales guy's face is priceless..

Thats why Indians make small cars and motor bikes cos they dont wanna spend on fuel....but then again i dont know a single indian that is not stingy :alc:

I'm sure Russel Peters will agree with you.

Since you have bothered asked and since I have been fortunate enough to be using one for the last 2 months or so,

An Impreza GD2, 2007 (9 version), manual does,

8 - 8.3 km/l on weekdays under extreme traffic conditions

8.5 km/l on weekdays during school holidays

9.0 km/l on weekend travelling

above 11.0 km/l outstation

Note: above figures are facts and not fiction. Besides, I wouldn't want to be boasting of a Subaru with unrealistic fuel consumption figures when there is much more of it to talk about!

Like most have pointed out, driving a Subaru is not about saving money on fuel but more to do with the shear pleasure of driving it. Handling is simply out of this world compared to other Japanese models (I was using an EK3, Ferio Mi earlier)

cheers.

Imo the above figures are really good - -- outstation 11km/l is almost double of what the STi does. The STi does about 7 max. But the point that stands out - as mentioned before is--> there is absolutely no point in driving a car like that- to save fuel -- as someone said - a bullock cart is a better option :)
