Help With Toyota Levin

Recommended Posts

Looking for a car in the range of 1-1.3 mil and came across this one..

http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=48446

What do u guys think about this?

Will this do well on fuel?

http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/toyota/corolla_levin/1996_5/2943/

According to that it does about 18.8/l. Is this possible? Can it do at least 14?

I have heard that finding body parts is bit harder?

Will this be a big problem?

Is this worth at this price? Coz i have no clue about the value of this model...

Appreciate your help..

Thanks in advance..

14Kmpl...yes it can do if u can push the car for 6km and let the engine to do the rest...

lol

but since its a ae110 model u can replace 110 parts but not body parts...

if u are looking car that worth for price go for mazda u can even get a good gxxx series familias for ur budget but be patient

So technically are u claiming that it does only 8km/l?(14-6)

How come it it is that low? It has the same corolla 110 engine i guess...(110 does around 14+ right, even some claim 16+ in outstation)

As i have heard Mazdas does not do well on fuel?

Is that a fact?

Correct me if im wrong..

bro...

i had an ae110 auto and it did around 10-11kms in city with a/c,,

assuming that it has the same engine,it must be more lighter than a 110 since its a 2 door car and its a manual

so you would be able to achieve more than 14kms according to the facts.but dont know how true it would be in the real world due to driving style and cars previous maintainance.

Thanks for the reply bro...

Ya its lighter, but not that much i guess...

1996 Levin - Curb vehicle weight, 970Kg

1996 Corolla XE saloon - Curb vehicle weight, 960kg

Being a sports version can that have an impact on the fuel efficiency?

Can someone enlighten me with more details about this model...Pls

(value, maintenance, fuel efficiency etc)

Thanks

What is the reason for such low demand??

Because any car that doesn't have four doors, door pillars, a 1.3l engine, a Toyota badge, and more than 10kmpl economy is considered to be crap by our majority public.

But its not really the case right...(i guess thats what u tried to meant)

Any way this do have a Toyota badge and does more than 10kmpl...Coz it have the same 110 engine and the weight is suppose to be less, bcoz its a 2 door...

110 will be a dream for ur budjet...last sunday i hav seen a ad for a 300- 110 seller asking 1.95Mn for that, i just called him(i wasnt intend to buy a 110) and asked whether he can come down a bit but the seller said "Putha oya gannawanam ganna mamanam sathayakwath adu kerane nah" this is what we call demand

Ya that is the case...I would love to go for a Corolla 110, but my budget doesn't permit..(but i guess its not that expensive, there are some 300-'s in AL around 16.5m)

So in that case don't u think this Levin is worth around 1.3m considering its condition and the fact that it has the same 110 engine??

(How come having only 2 doors become such a issue? is it due to low availability of spare parts?

I guess in other countries these sport cars trade at a premium, correct me if im wrong)

I insist you to go for this keeping the fact behind that i takes sometime to sell. There are kidoos who buy these for fun rides. If you could brining it down for 1.1-1.2 pretty worth though it a 2 door. Get out of the box. It does well on petrol just slow market purely been 2door.

This must be the only country on earth where one can peddle off a 15-year old pile of metal for almost 2 million bucks.

Well it`s simple, most of the people who would want to buy a corolla would use it as a family car, hence would need 4 doors. More demand, higher price. You are paying less for the Levin due to low demand. you get for a lower price, you sell for a lower price. There are a larger number of 110`s in the country compared to Levins, so body parts are plenty and cheap.

As far as the second hand market is considered in some other countries, two door coupe`s do tend to be expensive, but only certain models which are actually performance oriented (real sports coupes). Two door versions of corollas, sunnys, etc... with no performance improvements are actually cheaper than sedan versions.

P.S. Once you own a two door car, if you`ve got plenty of friends and other junkies to carry around, you`ll know what a pain in the arse it is. :D

it is a ae110 riviera it has a higher market value than other ae110 grade's that's why it ask that kind of price.

but still this is ridiculous. enough options are available for a budget of 2.15m

yeah you can buy a good condition carina gt or civic vi-rs with higher demand for corolla there will be people who buy it any ways but the point i make is mister TheClutch say is in post number #12 there is a 300 ae110 that the seller ask unworthy 1.95mill when compared both cars ae110 riviera has a reasonable price. :D
