In Spanish Pajero means the "w" word. Which is why in some markets the car is badged as Montero. The name Pajero was apparently used in reference to a wild cat (mimic one's behaviour ?). The name Montero was apparently used in reference to the Spanish word for Mountain (probably to imply it can climb them ?)

Also Pajero was called the Shogun in Europe I think.

On point! Saw one listed just a couple days ago. I knew the headlamps looked pretty unique, but thought the rear lamps might be confused with some other vehicles, but that's a nonexistent issue for y'all here lol. Yes it was ! They used Shogun in Europe and some South American countries but then did the whole mixing it up and changing it act. So during a certain period it was Shogun..then became Montero...then some countries went back to Shogun...it was all very confusing.

Are you saying we have issues because we don't have issues? :D

Something interesting for you guys then. You can have a festival inside one of these. This is second generation of this particular model. This particular model is based on a competitor model and uses the engines from that brand.

I particularly like the rear of the generation one version as it looks very futuristic. I know of one available in Sri Lanka.

The front on pic I have purposefully left to identify the brand.

The front pic was a dead giveaway about the  brand.  The particular brand had to base this off a different manufacturer despite having a sort of supremacy  in the past. BTW we had the first gen of this other makers brand in the quiz a few months back. Anyways there's no need to have a La me festival about it.

This front grill looks and feels so familiar. The 3 thick silver lining. Yet I just can’t remember anything. Maybe I’m mistaken.

Would you like to go ahead and give the proper answer and take the quiz forward?

The biggest different between the two (leave aside the badging and the brand specific face) was the side wave design.

Think son think, what other mainstream model had this kind of a grille at the front and you could say it has another design element in the V shape.

Yes I will do the honors in that case.

So the car in question is a 2nd Gen Nissan LaFesta - which is based off the third gen Mazda Premacy (We discussed the 1st gen premacy in this thread) this is what it looks like. The front grill pattern is quite Nissanish I would say.

As Gummy mentioned, the first gen LaFesta actually looks pretty cool - this was in the early 2000's when Automakers had a 2nd wave of design renaissance - we had some unique designs. Sadly, after that everyone decided to make sure all cars looked the same.

That is a cool rear end right? A bit of Cube design elements here, also it coulld be something they didnt change from the concept car. But then again the front is forgettable. Saw a review by hubnut and that thing had a full sunroof from front all the way to the back.

God, I thought correctly, I swear first thing came to my head when I saw the front of the car was in fact “This looks like a Nissan”. I tried searching Nissan front grilles but had no luck.

You did give a clue saying about Festivals which had me look at Ford Festiva and Fiestas. 😁

Even the rear pic would have reminded you of a Nissan.

OK then here's the next one...let's just say the discussion we had with regards to the previous car reminded me of this.

Have a go gentlemen.

Ahh yes....one of those attempts to Cruise into Prime Time but faded away before its time. The convertible was just weird looking. Looked like the love child of a Beetle and a Chrystler 300C

So much of hate for this car, it would have been a better design for the London Taxi cabs.
