A Reliable Vehicle - For Up To 500K?

Hi guys,

First post. Many thanks for the helpful insight here.

What would be a good vehicle (passenger. Cars or if any are available, cabs.) to buy for up to 500k?

Would be for regular use, but likely short distance. So the concerns are, in their priority

1. Fuel efficiency

2. Reliability (and spares availability/cost)

3. Looks

I would be very happy if you could present with your opinions. Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Is there anything for less than 500k that does not look retro (a la KE72 etc) and looks a tad bit modern (not as modern as a Prius or SmartCab but rather like the Presea or Bluebird U13). Thanks again !

@uditha88 are there any Preseas available at around 700k ? How is the fuel consumption ? I've heard that it usually does less than 8kmpl?

you could try a Nissan B11 or a Mitsubish Lancer C12/C11 which are very good cars and will cost between 350-450

Try the late 90's Koreans.A Daewoo Leganza I know went for 600k last month.Always haggle and bargain.

you cannot buy an ASP lancer they go for 600k and above for that price even a decent Mazda is tough to get for less than 500k

Hey KFL, not to be suspicious, but you must admit it's quite fishy for a person whose budget is under 500,000 to start 3 other threads asking about recommendations mentioning various other cars much more than half a mill like the Presea R10, Bluebird U13, KIA Rio, Hyundai Accent, a double cab and BMW E36. Any clarification or is this a way for you to kill time?

and on the other thread he said he already narrowed it to Accent and Rio

so in short, your selecting a car for your friend? for you to come to a conclusion that EG8 is not good?
