Hi guys,

i got a lancer cb8 car. there power window switch is not properly functioning recenly. I showed it to a certain electician and he ask me to replace the main power window switch. Do you guys know any place to buy a power window switch for a lancer? Please let me know :)

Ah this has happened to me too. I don't think its easy to repair the switch but a stroll around Delkanda would probably find you the part (remember Proton Wira's use the same part). If all else fails try Ebay UK as parts from Evo 1-3 or even Protons (its called the persona in the UK) is the same as the part you are after.

yep. i too tried to repair one of these at home but it would only hold for a couple of days.

in my case the plastic knobby bit that engages the switch was partially burnt and had worn off. i tried to build on it using 2 part epoxy but it would end up breaking away.

finally replaced it with a breaker shop unit from delkanda :)

'nilupa.uok',

If you cannot get a original switch only, do as under.

You can buy a switch 10 amps at 1st cross street colombo 11, will be under 100.00 Rupees.

Center off two way and modify fix same to your door panel.

If you want any technical help please do contact me.

Hey, there's a place in Delkada, just as you pass the Delkada junc towards the Maharagama side you'll find it on your left hand side. The place says windshield repairs, but they are specialists in these kind of things to. Good luck

While on the subject of power window switches, I'm envious of those who have the AUTO function for all four windows on the driver's controls. Any idea if the functionality is contained in the switch or control module? I would so love to be able to just shut all the windows without giving them a second thought.

'terrabytetango',

Your post, what I understand to close all window shutters at once. Is that correct.

I have come across Vehicles which has that facility. that control switch can operate single window separately or all windows at the same time.

Above mentioned function do you require.

well most vehicles that came with the feature has a BCM aka body control module to handle all that stuff.

But i suppose it cant be too tough setup some kinda switching mechanism. After all, all you need to do is engage all four individual shutter functions by one switch.

funny enough, my 1993 ae100 sprinter too had this feature...thought it kinda came in all power shutter vehicles.

@ripper I think my car has taken more than one trip through the cost cutting axe. I want to take apart the door card and identify the switch, but it would be an exercise in futility if like you say the BCM handles it.

@sylvi you're almost correct, what I want is the 'single press', or more commonly known as the 'express down' feature most vehicles have for the windows. That way if I want to completely open all 4 windows, I just have to press the 4 switches once firmly and they will roll down on their own.

well if your car comes in a spec that has the express down feature...i bet it's not too difficult to even source a bcm if it's needed.

why not maybe take the ride to ruwan's (rexxton motors) near the fire brigade in darley road and ask him if he can sort it out for you.

I had a retract mirror problem very few could fix until i finally took the car to him :) loose wire in the BCM and ruwan sorted it out in minutes :)

If there is no BCM maybe there is a circuit to monitor how much time you hold the switch?

I have a problem with my driver side auto roll up feature, when I tap the button it goes all the way up on its own then comes back half way down. So I have to close the window by holding the button. Its sooo annoying.

@ripper thanks for the info, that will be the first thing I do next year, assuming i'm sufficiently sober on Monday.

@reckless my driver's window (the one with the express down feature) does this once every so often, it happens to me when I use the express feature in quick succession several times both ways. The best thing is to leave it for a minute as it is, and then roll it up without using the express feature i.e. short pull on the switch and hold till the window is fully closed.

I will try that next time, the problem is it happens to me almost every time. Anyway I checked the net for any circuit diagram for auto up/down feature but couldn't find any, maybe is harder than it looks.
